I'm partial to the odd cocktail sausage myself but George looks so happy I don't begrudge him the treat.
When I was on the M6 in 2015 I called off at Keele service station and bought two scotch eggs, one for me and one for my son as part of his education into his British heritage. When we got back to the US he tried his hand at making some from scratch. I must say he did a very passable job. That was all inspired by your posts so I don't doubt that there may be a cocktail sausage or two in my future....
GEORGE ! GEORGE GEORGE GEORGE ! This day only gets better. thehamish had his herbal body spa day, i just had the best lunch and thehamish posted on the blog today. Just a great day. @ Lisa, all my Scotties always had collars in red or a red plaid. Just seems to fit.
I totally agree ... my Standard Poodle got regular dog haircuts. You know, Poodles have hair not fur so it has to be cut often .. unless you like the Rastafarian look . . I always got him cut the same all over, no pom poms :)
I seem to remember that Crufts recently accepted a new 'hairstyle' for Poodles, which looks rather like yours. I think the word 'trousers' was involved in the description.
George is a handsome laddie! They certainly have a presence those wee Scotties. Lovely to have him treated, it is nice to make a fuss of them individually ... but they are all special.
And what pray did George's custodian consume in the Sainsbury's car parK?
ReplyDeleteSausage rolls perhaps?
Deletehandsome georgie!

ReplyDeleteHe's gorgeous, I think black dogs have to wear red collars, it is like the law ha! Have a fabulous weekend x

ReplyDelete12 for 12 for George sounds terrific. Best wishes to you and yours. xo
ReplyDeleteThat red collar sets off his look perfectly! I love how you have days out one-on-one with your dogs. It's such a parenting thing to do.

ReplyDeleteBless his heart, he looks like a young pup ..Happy Birthday, George !
ReplyDeleteHappy boy, I'm sure! Looking good!
ReplyDeleteHandsome boy.
ReplyDeleteHe does look really handsome!! I'll admit that one of the reasons why I have a Scottie is because I love their sharp profile!
ReplyDeleteScotties are one breed that really do look better with their traditional haircut, as opposed to Poodles with Pom Poms.

ReplyDeleteHe looks like a shortbread tin dog. xxxxx
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with others that black dogs deserve a red or red tartan collar. He's a handsome chap and I bet he loved his treat.
ReplyDeleteSweet George. I met a twelve week old " George " this week who was adorable.
ReplyDeleteSo, how many Scotch eggs did you enjoy while George ate cocktail sausages?
ReplyDeleteLove your George pic . . .
ReplyDeleteHappy 12 handsome one . . .
George is my favourite! Look at his square angularness! fab.
ReplyDeleteHe's a fine looking fella. 12 sausages for a 12 year old dog. Are you going to treat yourself to 50+ scotch eggs for your next Birthday John? :)
ReplyDeleteI love how they each have a fun day out with you. Sweet George.

Dear George...he looks so alert and happy sitting there. So nice to have a George and Daddy moment.
ReplyDeleteJust desserts I'd say, for a 'bloke' who had to endure such a fiddly hair cut.
ReplyDeleteWhat a handsome chap, nice to see him taking the limelight for a change.
ReplyDeleteHe looks quite pleased with himself.
ReplyDeleteJust as well you are under the fat farm regime, or he would have had less sausages.....yes, I did that on purpose, I know it it "fewer" 😀
ReplyDeleteSo sweet. My dog is also 12 this week.
ReplyDeleteHandsome George!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to George!

ReplyDeleteHe's a very handsome chap! :)
ReplyDeleteNow THAT is a satisfied dog! Though I'm sure he could make room for a 13th....
