Tits over Deco

I was impressed by two things yesterday.
Brie Larson's tits was one ( well two!)
And an art deco pub called The Albion in the fortified town of Conwy was the other!

The Albion

We have started to have a few hours off in the pub on a weekday afternoon recently. It works very well as I drive ( I hate having a drink in an afternoon) and the Prof can have a few pints of special brewed beer ( not my favourite tipple)
Our chosen venue is the aforementioned real ale pub The Albion which is a delightful and untouched 1920s public house which has scrubbed tables, quality scotch eggs as snacks and doggie treats for customer dogs who are allowed in all rooms!
I took a broadsheet newspaper and Mary and The Prof took a trashy Miss Marple-ish book and in front of a real fire we read then chatted to a couple of fellow drinkers who fell in love with Mary, who sat politely next to me.
Britain does do pubs well, when they do pubs well......
I would have taken Winnie but I think even with the recent hysterectomy she would have found someone to masturbate over!
Anyhow
Later on I dragged The Prof and my sister to see Kong Skull Island which had some of the worst dialogue since Helen Reddy's Nun said of Linda Blair's seriously ill passenger in AIRPORT 75 " The poor kid , she's in Washington  and her kidney is in Los Angeles"
Brie Larson's bust was impressively on show though....and I felt almost heterosexual after two hours of it heaving in front of the cameras! It's a shame really she was soo good in the movie Room.

  1. Never a dull moment with you, John. That might be why the Prof loves you so.

  2. Oh no, I was hoping it was going to be good.

  3. I wouldn't mind taking a tipple with you in that pub; looks so cozy!

and I don't care about boobs.

  4. Brie Larson is quite a hottie..I should go check out those boobs...er, ah...moovies. Yes, that's what I meant.

Enjoy your pub dates! Looks like a nice place to have a pint (or more)

  5. One thing nice about retirement is that you can enjoy the afternoon and occasionally break rules and have a glass of fine wine before 5pm. Then you go home and take a nap.

  6. I do like the pub. Classy.

  7. Like that pub! What is it with the male boob obsession? Even you?

  8. I'm neither male nor gay but I love boobs!

  11. Sad to hear that about Skull Island... i had almost convinced myself to go.... Some of the dialogue in the previews made me question it though... good to know i can still pick out a questionable movie... saves me some money...sorry you spent yours......... Hugs! deb

  12. Like jinxxxygirl above, I'd half-persuaded myself to give 'Kong' a go, just for the effects which look okay from the trailer. I think you've now doused that flame - which was only a weak, spluttery one anyway.

    1. On reflection it is quite a fun movie...and much much better than the overblown gci KING KONG of a few years ago

    2. Yup, others a saying it's good fun too, so I might still pop along. Didn't see the last King Kong as I don't like seeing animals(!) suffer. Last one I saw was the dire 70s version and this sounds a lot better than that.

  13. Gosh, I haven't thought about that before... if we accept (which we ought) that 10%+ of the population is gay, why aren't 10%+ of the films depicting gay perspectives..... and don't tell me that it's because the Bible belt can't cope - or I'll ask why there aren't more biblical-literalist movies ....(Thank God there's aren't!!!)

  14. Poor Winnie - missed out on an outing again, she would have loved it.
You learn something new every day...I didn't know there was an actress named after a smelly French cheese !

  15. I watched " Room" on TV last night. It was excellent, though I think they should have made more of how they found the shed ( in about 5 minutes) from Jack's whispered description of 3 stops and a skylight!
    That pub looks great.

  16. A telling review if the only thing(s) worth mentioning are Brie Larson's breasts. The pub escape sounds perfect (without Winnie).

  17. I think it is rare to find a really good pub. They are closing down so fast here in London. The one above looks really nice. I am not fussed about boobs or mens dangly bits or any other sexual part. Maybe now that Winnie has had her hysterectomy she won't have so many sexual urges? :)

  18. A pub should be heaving with people and noise. That one doesn't look like it was.

    2. I disagree. I like the pubs with two old men, a dog, a beligerent landlady and nothing louder than a ticking clock.

I saw the trailer for that film and immediately thought "Wow, that looks shite".
The pub made up for that bad decision by the sound of it though.

The first time I visited the UK, I really hated the dingy, tin and crowded pubs. My second visit to the UK and I was singing in praise of them. They are quite different to our pubs. Does The Prof like having beer foam on his moustache?

I could recall many rather vulgar posts both of you have typed! One regarding a smelly bottom almost put me in counselling

Of course, "it's rich", John, as in "impoverished".

Mind you, you of all people seem to be able to deal with excrement, human and animal, better than the rest of us.

Must have missed "smelly bottoms" but do remember Rachel's "skid marks". It constitutes one of those loops playing in your mind one wishes to erase - with little success.

  22. I thought Bosoms was the name of your vegetable patch. You will have to rename it The Brie Larson Memorial Garden. I wonder if her parents named her Brie because she smelt like soft French cheese at birth. Often new babies are covered in vernix which looks rather like brie.

  25. Sounds a perfect blend of culture and country for you and the Prof. Our local is lovely and dog friendly with dog treats behind the bar, doggy bowls inside and out and for one elderly female Jack Russell, a cushion which has become her own. It can be a bit fraught trying to step over the doggy carpet when you're bringing pints back from the bar and some newcomers find the touch of a cold wet collie nose they didn't know was hiding under the bench a little alarming...

  29. LOL. We've been wrestling over seeing Kong. The cast is good, but the movie is likely to be a big ole dud (except apparently for a great rack.) LOL

    ReplyDelete
  30. I just don't understand why they made another version of Kong. Didn't one come out only ten years ago or so? That pub looks GREAT. I'm impressed Mary stays so calm in pubs. Olga gets all amped up, mostly because of the food all around her. She can be a handful in a pub.

  31. I don't know, John. Nothing beats the "sniffing" scene in the original "King Kong" movie where Kong peels off Fay Wray's clothes, pokes her with his fingers and then smells them. And that was in 1933!

  33. Mammerys are essential for all human and animal kind..so its understandable that you find them acceptable - they are a life force ;) Some have a live of their own (thinking Dolly P here) and a source of pride and sometimes discomfit.. but essential all the same

    ~sigh~
