Gogglebox

My husband is a busy man.
London Monday-Tuesday home last night for a few hours then Norway today.
I shall drive to the airport on Friday night to pick him up.
It's very cold in Norway today.....thank goodness he has bought a new bobble hat!

As all was rushed and frenetic on his brief return last night
One constant never changed a bit, she didn't even move her fat arse.
As The Secret Life Of Dogs played on our small tv, which is perched on the window sill
Winnie sat transfixed and never moved for nearly an hour.

I fear a bobble hat is a knitted woollen hat with a pom pom on top. Ever so fetching.

  2. Great photo of Winnie! Do you ever get jealous of the Prof and his jet set lifestyle! I wish I was in demand all over the globe! I know the Prof works hard from how you speak of him but I think there are many people (high earners) busy doing nothing going from meeting to meeting and conferences all looking busy and important and actually achieving nothing! As an unwaged housewife I do get bitter that such people are held in high esteem. Sorry to go off topic John but the grey days are getting to me! x

    1. Im very proud of him simone....ever since i met him he's worked hard. The first few years we were together he was funishing a PhD and i never saw him in the evenings! Its the way of things thats all!
I am that househusband now and i think i have a vital tole to play in his success which is really our success now!
We joke about it, but i am sort of serious when i tell him " i am the wind beneath you wings"

  3. A professor wearing a bobble hat? Now that's not right. Holding such an exalted academic position, Chris should always wear a mortar board on his egghead. Also helpful when pointing brickwork.

  4. Bless her! Our bulldog/shar pei cross pup also watches a lot of TV....for some reason, she's taken a dislike to the male sports reporter on the breakfast tv prog and barks at him. Perhaps she doesn't like sport!

  7. Great picture of the dog. Traveling that much is a grind. It is a great adventure, but sooner or later, he wants to sit and watch TV with the dogs.

  8. I recorded the programme, I shall watch it in the manner of Winnie this afternoon.

  9. She's gorgeous! I would have been tempted to sit and watch Winnie for that hour. X

  10. Awwww, gorgeous Winnie ! She looks very thoughtful, and is probably wondering why her secret life isn't quite so exciting? Or maybe getting a few ideas to surprise us all....

  11. I m sue that the Prof's best days are spent at home with you and his four legged family. Traveling can be exiting in the beginning but gets old pretty quick.

  12. When all their needs are met, dogs can be amazingly inert. We see this with Olga too, though she doesn't even bother to keep her eyes open!

  13. That's a sweet photo of Winnie.

A friend has told me about her pugs lining up in front of the tv to watch Animal Planet.

  15. Wow. The movie was more entrancing than getting some love from one of the dads? Must be a fantastic movie!

The Prof should pick up a tuque in Norway. Fewer bobble tops, more choices, probably could find something suitably academic. Still, if you could sneak us a crafty photo of him in the bobble top hat...

  16. That is a sweet photo of Winnie. Cool how the glow of the screen shows on her face.

  17. We tried some of the collies' fetch tricks with Dillon who picked up the correct toy out of a choice of three but went on to pick up the other two toys too ! HE got rather overexcited at the find the treat under the cup game.

  18. I had no idea Winnie was such a film connoisseur.

  19. She does look a bit like Alfred Hitchcock, but on the feminine side of course. Whatever you can say about that beauty of a dog, you do love her!! When I read some of your posts, John, I really miss having dogs!

  20. Great pic of Winnie..whatva character she is. My Silky occasionally will watch something on the TV but is far more interested in watching the guppys busy in their fishtank.. I often come upon her sitting sphinx like, gaze focused on the fishes!

  22. Yep, it's our dogs new favourite programme too, only the rustle of a food wrapper makes them look away from the television screen for the whole hour.
