This morning I've hand delivered most of the village Christmas cards.
By the time I reached Ochr y Gop farm which overlooks Trelawnyd on the side of Gop Hill, I was wheezing a bit, my chest infection still hasnt quite cleared it would seem.
After that deliveries literally went down hill.
I stopped briefly outside Mrs Trellis' house. The windows were open and I could hear her singing as she practiced the piano.
Ps and a big thank you to The Weaver Of Grass The bobble hat is lovely! Xxxxx

bwhahahahaha!
DeleteI hope you were wearing a scarf. Keep warm John. X
ReplyDeleteBoy I wish I lived on the street where Mrs Trellis lives.
ReplyDeleteJohn I am so pleased that the bobble hat has finally arrived - what a long time it has taken and first class post too. I was beginning to think it had gone via Australia.
ReplyDeleteYou're a nurse, John, what in blue blazes made you tackle the the card delivery in your condition in the damp? Sometimes, I swear, you need a keeper.
ReplyDeleteTypical male 'immortal' ...
DeleteI so adore your blog and I'm glad I watched the last episode of Walking Dead before reading the previous post :D What a rollercoaster of an episode!!!
ReplyDeleteWasnt it just! Welcome aboard
DeleteHe could hear Mrs. Trellis signing and playing the piano through the open window. mmm.
ReplyDeleteYou really live under Milk Wood don't you?
You should know better than to go out in the damp after you've had a chest infection ! Hopefully you'll be on the mend, now you have that very nice new hat to wear.
ReplyDeleteHate to say this, but looking at the photo of that depressing muddy track, it reminds me of one of the reasons we left the UK for a warmer climate!
I'm a lazy oink I posted all my neighbours cards ... in the post box in Llandudno while I was out shopping ... of course I had to drive past half of their houses in order to get to Llandudno .... but HEY HO ;-)
ReplyDeleteDidn't you think that it would be better to do it when the weather was better? Or is it just not going to get better till spring? It wasn't a very bright thing to do though, was it!!
ReplyDeleteMy youngest son has had to have 2 lots of antibiotics to get rid of his chest infection so keep an eye on it.

I'm not sure the weather would hurt you, the fresh air would likely do you good. Just don't get overtired and run down. Good on you for hand delivering your cards. I'd be too talky and it would take until New Year's to get through the visiting part.
ReplyDeleteTo my non-Welsh ears (or pronunciation), the road to Ochr Y Gop looks exactly as it sounds.
ReplyDeleteIt literally means " side of the gop" the gop being the name of the hill
Deletemy big question is: do you walk on the muddy part of the road or do you walk on the grass and risk it all wearing out?
ReplyDeleteI love the idea of hand delivering cards. Like jenny_o, it would take me an age though.
ReplyDeleteI do hope your chest infection settles, and love your new hat.
Saw a perfect jumper for you in H & M with a bulldog wearing antlers on it. Sorry not good at pictures.
ReplyDeleteTo few of us live in a place where you can hand deliver Christmas cards and not be suspected of being a bit odd.
ReplyDeleteWe have to mail almost all of our cards. Stamps ahoy
ReplyDeleteI love how knitted together you are with your neighbors and town events. It's one of the reasons I enjoy your blog so much. My neighbor dropped off a small loaf of potica (Slovenian bread) at my door this week. It's her Christmas tradition with her neighbors and I look forward to it every year.
ReplyDeletehowever, building one's muscle tissue isn't always as easy as it looks on those limitless product infomercials that promote device, dietary supplements, and other additives of the muscle building industry. http://musclegainfast.com/ef13-muscle-supplement/
ReplyDeleteI see that aftermath of rain, a muddy path, and yet that photo looks idyllic. I'm fascinated that people actually live as you do. As a child, I read about such places in books. What different worlds we inhabit, you and I. Thank you for sharing yours.
