What a full day you had John! Mine was no where near as exciting.
ReplyDeleteHardly exciting dearheart...love love love the barn photos on your blog x
ReplyDeleteIt's only 10.00 a.m. in Oz so I've had breakfast, watered the dog, done some washing, brushed the dog, tidied the kitchen, cuddled the dog. Time for his walk now (should be safe if the lollipop man has gone home).

Lucky you!
Deleteunemployment and disability and a husband who doesn't want a dog have a way of shrinking a persons world
DeleteShit!
DeleteHoly crap John, Don't you feel exhausted after making that list? I know I do. I was once married to a man who insisted I keep a list like this - old habits are hard to break. LOL
ReplyDeleteI like list making Karen
DeleteAre you still comi g over tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteNo, can't get Prof to cover me.. but we need to book Liverpool meet up! Bev and prof can bugger off and we can do walking dead to death
DeleteShame! I was looking forward to meeting up. We will have to sort out Liverpool for early in the new year. We will skype!
Deletei had an unusual day and actually left the house and did, god forbid, xmas shopping! by 8:00 am i made dinner for 30 kids. then i made lunches for my own kids and their partners. cooked teddy two meals and headed out to get my kids some stuff to decorate with for xmas. this is the first year the two of them and their SO are doing so and i am stoked. brought the stuff home and elaborately wrapped it all. started to organize shipping xmas presents and decorated the front porch. i am SO behind this year.
ReplyDeleteBut what about WILLIAM's busy day??? He must be exhausted :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, you had a full day. Sympathies on the ruined saucepan.
If I ever find myself squeezing a dog's anal glands, I'll just shoot myself.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Mary.
DeleteWait a minute...the Vet didn't offer to squeeze those pesky anal glans for you? My own vet once said..."You know, we charge $20.00 for this service and I could show you how to do it to your Cairn Terrier Buzzy McDuff". I told him it was a bargain at 20 bucks and would consider paying double if he never mentioned it again. X
ReplyDeleteLOL!!!
DeletePay extra never to never hear about it again.
We had a male standard poodle , I was blissfully unaware of his glands.
Me too Ms. Moon ! Ick!
ReplyDeleteTended chickens ducks and cats, tended baby, went to post office, cooked, cleaned, put off Christmas shopping again. It's been a good day.
I went to new york city to meet a fellow knitter from bristol UK!
ReplyDeleteanne marie , where did you meet her ? How was the day ? :)
Deletein a diner across from penn station; it was FABULOUS!
DeleteOh that is fabulous, NYC diner food :)
DeleteI got my friend to try a chocolate egg cream! (yum)
DeleteWoke, fed cats, went to market, took a walk, fed ducks, went home and fed and talked to neglected and pitiful cats who acted as if I had been gone for months instead of a couple of hours ...
ReplyDeleteHad homemade by someone else, chicken noodle soup and nutella on croissants for dessert.
I am now in my pajamas ready to watch bad television with the cats.
An ordinary day .. I have to write and address Christmas Cards.
The cats refused to do it for me.
grumble grumble ...
I didn't do diddly, guess I should have made a list.
ReplyDeleteVet or groomer should have done the anal glands. Too bad about the sprouts.
ReplyDeleteTry soaking the pan with a baking Soda and water paste.
ReplyDeleteYup, dump a cup or so of water in and a goodly 1/4 cup of soda, a squirt of dishwash, put back on stove top, bring to simmer and leave overnight. Very few burned ons can survive this.
DeleteWhew!!!
ReplyDeleteYou never visited the lavatory all day - either for a Number 1 or a Number 2? That shows very impressive restraint!
ReplyDeleteStayed in bed all day and made passionate love to my husband who adores me as if I were as cute as Meg Ryan was in "Sleepless in Seattle"
ReplyDeleteThen I woke up. And milked a cow. Not as glamorous as above day dream but certainly more productive.
So far have been trying to sleep with no luck. Came downstairs to investigate blogland and am now hoping to climb the stairs and find some apples and pears. XXoo
ReplyDeleteIt's 10:30ish at night here, and it was my day off, and I'll admit at the end of it, that I've not done a damn thing all day. I did get dressed just before Carl got home from work at 4:30, so it looked like I had. I fooled him. But maybe after 35 years of marriage he just knew ....
ReplyDeleteSo, a pretty quiet day!
ReplyDeleteUp at 7, breakfast, finalised child's report to take to print and deliver, school by 8, taught 4 children one after the other, discussed progress and end-of-year reports with Principal, finalised end-of-year data for Ministry of Education, off for a life-saving coffee. Went to national museum to see exhibition entitled European Splendour (overrated!) helped with grandson's dinner. Had take-aways with husband (Chinese, and not a patch on those we had in England) now watching news. Pretty average day, really, but at least I've got all those darned reports out of my hair.
ReplyDeleteDon't you hate, hate, hate paperwork!
Put a small amount of water in the pan add bio Washing powder leave to soak for 24 hours. Should rescue the pan.
ReplyDeleteWent to work, dealt with idiots, calmed down murderous colleague who had received an email from management level idiot.
ReplyDeleteArgued with engineer who wanted to do botch job on my machines. Went food shopping for daughter. Came home did online shopping. Made cakes for fundraiser. Collected my L&M from work. Calmed him down after difficult day dealing with Muppets. Iced cakes. Went to bed.
Your life is very glamourous John! There's a lot of contentment to be had in the mundane. X
ReplyDeleteI suppose that when you collected the Prof he was still wearing YOUR jim-jams? Can't he afford his own?
ReplyDelete
ReplyDeleteNot a lot - it poured with rain all day, the road flooded, so couldn't even walk the dogs ! Local electricity company were doing repairs so no power.
Another quiet day in Trelawynd then?

I had a really busy day most key keeping out of hubby way whilst he fitted a we kitchen work surface , my default position when diy is in progress . I was allowed to go out in the cold twice to hold a piece of wood . Today I am being allowed the privilege of cleaning up the kitchen oh joy x
ReplyDelete"...we are now living in an age that personal sexuality is more or less celebrated and certainly accepted ..." (quote from your next post). Not over here once Trump and his stooges take office. Liberal democracy is getting smaller in the rearview mirror. The insane tyrant's hostile takeover of the U.S. continues as his cabinet picks get ready to dismantle America.
ReplyDeleteWhat did I do today?
Today I helped spread vital issue info on the web; donated to 2 organizations Trump will defund; donated to the Internet Archive that is moving to Canada to save historical (and evidential) data (their reaction to Trumps thoughts on 'restricting internet'); feared for Social Security & Medicare that millions depend on....
You know, what passes for usual these days.
Picked up great granddaughters at 6:30am, bathed them dressed them, fed breakfast took 4 year old to pre school, did some food shopping, rocked and bottled 11 month old and down for a nap, picked up 4 year old from pre school, cooked and fed lunch, helped 4 year old with her flash cards. washed and dried 3 loads of clothes. This is 5 days a week taking care of great grands. On weekends add mopping floors and dusting everything on Saturday and Sunday I have a bit of a breather.
ReplyDeleteI feel quite knackered just reading your list John. Mine’s a little different: sat on arse in office until midday, got home, sat on arse and crocheted, had a nap, walked dogs, sat on arse and ate dinner, watched tv, hit the sack. Needless to say, the arse is increasing at an alarming rate!
ReplyDeleteAnd - somebody has to say it - "you didn't go to work that day."
ReplyDeleteWas looking after 14 week old grandson all yesterday, so did nothing but feed, change, play with, cuddle and gaze at the gorgeous boy!
ReplyDeleteIt was a wonderful day, with a takeaway at 8-30 p.m. as I was too shattered to cook!
To clean that pan, make a thick paste of baking soda and a small amount of water. Slather it on thick on the burnt spots and let sit overnight. The next morning rinse and repeat. But this time pour vinegar into the pan. When everything stops sizzling use a scrubber to remove the rest of the burnt on stuff. It looks like a volcano when you add the vinegar, but it works for me.
ReplyDeleteYou have a station in your pyjamas?
ReplyDeleteMy list
Had tea and breakfast in bed
cleaned house
fed chucks
did some shopping
made lunch
watched TV and did crossword
Parents evening
hair wash and bed

ReplyDeleteI remember having to help my Dad squeeze our pet poodle's anal glands occasionally when I was a teenager. Yuck!
ReplyDeleteSorry, I was too busy doing my day to comment on yours ..... ;-)
ReplyDeleteMostly dealing with others peoples c*"p here to do anything else. I seem to spend all my time picking up after someone else at the moment. At least I didn't have to squeeze a dogs bottom or spray the foot of a goose so I count myself lucky! It is all about perspective isn't it.
ReplyDeleteOhh, I love this list.
ReplyDeleteAnd don't ya just luv it when somebody says 'what have you been doing all day?'. I could throttle them.

Met my dearest friend for dinner...she is in town for short visit. Had to wear 2 different shoes because my sister hid all my others leaving only 2 that did not match. At least it was a right and a left. Caring for a mentally challenged sister is always a daily surprise.
