Perfect John, a credit to all your hard work. It looks like a page from Country Life - especially with the gorgeous Winnie basking in front of the fire.
He said 'getting', not 'going'. Anyway, he has had his fair share of lady gardens in the past. Ladies' front bottoms hold no mystique for him, I am sure.
Cozy! Are those built-in cupboards? I would love those! If I am to understand correctly, in England (and maybe elsewhere)the term "homely" means that something looks nice, comfortable, cozy. In Canada, to call something homely means it is ugly. Just a fun fact that sort of fits in with what we're talking about. -Jenn
We had them made when we arrived at the cottage...which was strange as an old resident of Trelawnyd who knew the cottage said that when she was. A child there was always cupboards each side of the chimney
You worked wonders! So warm and inviting and beautiful, John. The Prof will never understand what you went through to get your home back in order. Is all the work done? Is Winnie's paw okay, didn't she lose a nail?
Sitting there with a glass of something lovely or a cup of tea - radio on listening to a play or some soothing music - heaven on a stick I imagine John. p.s. is that a new new stove/fire? as in brand new...we are just about to pick one for our sitting room.
Duchess Winnifred of Trelawd appears to be truly pleased which means all your work was worth the 10 hours and then some. It looks lovely, and inviting and the perfect spot to fall asleep while reading a good book. Good job. I imagine that this calls for some bubbly when The Professor gets back home, right?
Oh look at sweet Winnie <3
