Scared Mary
The Prof is out with his brother tonight down in Kent
I am watching the zombie film Daylight's End on full blast.
Mary has been upset by all the undeads' growling
And is sat with me like a child frightened by a storm
Now my lumping great cat will watch all parts of Lord of the Rings except when the Orcs turn up then it's head on my shoulder and paws around my neck. Happens every time.
Goodness I remember as a teenager watching a vampire movie with a friend, in the dark, while we were alone in the house. We had these weird floor level windows, and just as a scary part of the movie happened a black cat appeared through a window, and the light from the screen caught its eyes and they glowed like a demon. We just about peed ourselves!!! It wasn't our cat, we didn't have one. All of our squealing scared it away and I closed the window. That was the last time I ever watched a scary movie!
One time my daughter (who used to read scary teen novels) came out of the downstairs bathroom and hysterically claimed the devil was looking in at her through the sliding glass door. It was a skunk.
daddy will take good care of his little girl and protect her from the big bad zombies!

DeleteIt's a good thing you're both there to soothe each other's nerves!
ReplyDeleteWhat, you didn't give her the traditional cushion to hide behind? Mean man.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how Mary puts up with you! She should be in another room with doggy headphones.
ReplyDeleteSurely she's not old enough for a film of this cetificate. She'll be having nightmares ;-)
ReplyDeleteYou are the cutest, John. But don't show scary shows in front of the young children! xx
