Three posts in one day? Bloody hell
I had to leave things on a lighter note, what with Sad George and French Birka overkill dominating today's posts
The bake off is back!
And hats off to the BBC for finding another 12 delightful contestants
We have a feisty PE teacher, a vicar, a ditsy grandma, a sweet natured boffin, a potentially arrogant banker ...and best of all a camp-as -Christmas Sikh Queen who was seen skipping around the bake off tent like a middle aged Harvey Feirstein
Wonderful stuff

Note the feisty teacher wasn't filmed with her basin!
ReplyDeletePerhaps she threw it at Paul...
DeleteThat was his wife
DeleteI LOVE the British bake off show - - but here in the U.S. it always runs extremely late on PBS. I only saw last year's final episode about a week ago.
ReplyDeleteDidn't you just love nadiya's last speech!
DeleteI think it is going to be a good series. My husband exclaimed 'I know her' when he saw the P.E teacher. He used to work at the same school as she did. Roll on next Wednesday!
ReplyDeleteThey do look a nice lot
DeleteShe's my favourite. I loved the way the chap who forgot to put his cinnamon into his cake took all the credit for her idea of putting it in the drizzle!
DeleteManaged to catch the end of it - bad planning on my part, so watched the programme with Nadiya - The Chronicles of Nadiya. Rather sweet seeing her trying out new recipes with her family and their various responses.
ReplyDeleteShe's a sweetie.....the new lot look nice though
DeleteWe should be able to get this in approximately two years.
ReplyDeleteSigh...
Make me want to bake, I need someone to eat it all though.
ReplyDeleteI bake well......it's all in the freezer
DeleteI'd give her one, basin or no basin. Arr. That's roight.
ReplyDeleteHaving sex with you, she'd need one
Delete......to be sick in
A basin would be useful if it was a blow job
DeleteWe are really behind here in Canada. Two or three episodes to see who is top baker . Nadia I presume.
ReplyDeleteToo bloody right listen to her final speech wonderful
DeleteWe're even more behind here in New Zealand. The 2014 series is starting here next week so we have the Great Icecream Scandal to look forward to.
DeleteI love Bake Off. We are soooooo far behind here though. It will be next year (or the year after) before we see this series.
ReplyDeleteWe can watch the GBBO on Youtube over here, thankfully. It's good fun. I'd rather focus on the Bake Off than the Burkini Off any day.
ReplyDeleteAh Bake Off that joy of commonsense where a lesbian and heterosexual make jokes about an older woman and white male and where Sikhs, Muslims, Catholics, Anglicans, immigrants and grandmothers compete over that most contentious of issues - cake. It is a breath of joy in mad world.
ReplyDeleteYou explained it beautifully
ReplyDeleteCurvywitch I auite agree
ReplyDeleteQuite agree even
DeleteOh i do enjoy the Bake Off.... although i usually catch it on YouTube.... Hugs! deb
ReplyDeleteBeen a busy day, eh? I've never seen this show but it sounds like a good way to end a bad day.
ReplyDeleteI hope they're still doing the Sunday repeat.
ReplyDeleteI wondered if you were watching John. I thought the right one went off didn't you?
ReplyDeleteIn seeking a politically correct spread of contestants, it is shameful that the BBC didn't pick:-
ReplyDeletea) someone who is wheelchair-bound
b) someone with Down's syndrome
c) a Chinese dwarf
Agreed that the right one went. It looks interesting. I like Jane very much.
ReplyDeleteI love the bake off but we here in the States have to wait for quite a while to see the latest.
ReplyDeleteNadiya is a sweetie, hope she wont get any flack re her views on arranged weddings. Shes a lovely young woman. I didnt agree with star baker. And the lady in the black lippe - couldnt stop looking at it. Sad yes.
ReplyDeleteIt was fun to click over to the BBC site to at least be introduced to these contestants, although we can't watch the actual program for a year or so. BBC is more generous with its radio programs, which I enjoy very much.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes.
I always look in the tv guide to see what they are making, then I buy something similar to eat whilst its on. If I forget it is hugely disappointing.
