Open Range

Last night I watched the superior western Open Range ...it featured my favourite actress Annette Benning ....
If I was straight .....she would be the type I'd go for!
Natural, spunky and rather windswept

Who would  you go for if you were on the opposite bus?
Do tell.....

  1. Oh. So many. Wanda Sykes comes to mind first of all. But she already has a wife.
    Dammit.

  2. I've tried to think about that possibility, but I'm afraid it's beyond the limits of my narrow imagination. I adore lots of women, for any number of reasons, from Kay Francis to the Princess Royal, but I can't quite picture cosying up to one on a cold winter evening. I suppose if I absolutely had to choose, it would be Karen Blixen, because she would make me laugh and had such fantastic taste in food, wine, and art. I suppose there are worse ways to go into a relationship, though, no?

    1. Wait - just though of one. Kristin Scott Thomas, or perhaps more accurately her character in Four Weddings and a Funeral. Although, since she ended up as Princess of Wales, I doubt she'd be interested...

  3. I don't like other women; I am all about the menz. :-)

I cannot imagine being in bed with another female.

    1. Seriously? You'd be able to imagine yourself in bed with a Putin or a Trump before you could imagine yourself in bed with Sophia Loren or some other gorgeous, smart, sexy woman?

  4. Crikey John ...... what a question?? Mum's what you call straight I s'pose but reckons she'd go for you if she could. If she had to go for another sheila she could go for that Annette Benning too. She's something else, aye?? That's one of Mum's VERY favourite movies. She's watched it over and over and over again. Sad life she leads, aye?? She's having a few eye problems at the moment so hasn't been commentating as much as she would like but we are reading your posts most days.

  6. I always thought if I was gay, I would be a lipstick lesbian and date ladies like Rachel Weisz, Salma Hayek, Margot Robbie or Angela Bassett. So many interesting women out there, so hard to choose...

    1. I'll join you, but you have to invite the actor who played Harry Dresden in the TV series.

  9. Right now? No one. Being a switch hitter... it would be Bowie if he were still alive and Charlotte Rampling. Unabashedly brainy sexuality with both.

Good question! I think I'd choose Justin Timberlake. Or maybe Kris Bryant.

    1. Jamie Lee is a great choice. For me, it would be a bit incestuous as I really fancied her dad as well!

  15. You are doing quite a lot of question-asking for one who receives so many comments. Maybe you're just greedy?

Anyway, if I were a lesbian, I would go for Lucy Worsley, as I believe I have already mentioned.

  20. If I were on the opposite bus I'd go for the Conservative politician Eric Pickles. He's such a hunk with his film star good looks and rippling pecs.

  26. I don't know her name. I was at the batting cages with my son and daughter and husband and two women were at the cage next to us and a ball rolled over to them. one of the women leaned down and picked it up , looked me in the eyes and handed it to me. her, it would be her.

  27. I also love Ms Bening. I first noticed her, I think, in 'Valmont', that 'alternative' version of 'Dangerous Liasons' which most thought was inferior to the other, though I actually preferred it.
The first time I saw her (though this is getting on for 30 years ago) I thought she was Jenny Agutter, another actress whom I greatly admire. Neither of them are make enough films for me.

  32. Difficult question to answer. For such a long time I thought I belonged on that opposite bus (despite urges to the contrary) and thus any "crush" I may have had regarding the fairer sex was an excuse to stay on that bus. Ironically, one of the first female celebrities I can remember having a crush on was, of all people, Cher, starting way back when I was in the fifth grade. Ah, the innocence of youth!
