  10. Hi John,
Boy, I went away for a day and all hell broke loose! Next time give a person a heads up before you post something like that so I can really savor and support it fully! I read going gently because I am curious about life in general in England/Wales. No other agenda. I like your outlook and views though.

  13. He picked the wrong place to start a fight!

But if he does come back, set a date & time for a meeting, and we can organise a Going Gently convention / intervention. Maybe invite the couple who adopted the geese - I'm sure Mr Prannet will love them!

    2. Oh I'm still here. Just not had "the muse" or mindset to write the blog. Stuff happening - may restart soon.

At the moment waiting for Howard to call me from A&E. He's had flu, and coughed so hard he's damaged muscles or something in his lower back and abdomen and can barely stand. In the meantime, I will try to convince Pumpkin cat that the tiny wood mouse that had eaten every pea, bean, sweetcorn and courgette seed I have sown IS big enough to make a worthwhile snack.

  17. How did you get that photo of us?? lol

  18. Not of of us 'women of a certain age' look like your picture. As I remember from the pictures here, your Mother-in-Law is perfectly gorgeous. However, I guess stereotypes work for a quick post.

  19. Ker-rikey! what a difference a day makes...I don't read for one day and all hell breaks loose. Here's my suggestion re this person pruitt....draw a line under the whole thing and move on....don't give them any more blog time.x

  20. Oh dear, what a very narrow minded idiot, from - in your words a " daft old broad " who loves reading your Blog and loves the posts when you have the two delightful girls after school.

  21. oops - just re read your reply to my belly laugh comment & you called me a " mad old broad " not daft.
Still smiling about your " offer him a carrot" comment x Must go to work & stop reading all the comments on your posts x

  22. You won't care one jot about your sexuality in hell John. Why don't you just find out about Jesus for yourself, instead of knee-jerk reactions based on your chosen lifestyle, then rallying other lost souls to defend it. It's a broad way John, and I don't want you on it.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. If Going Gently and John's "chosen" life style offends you, stop reading the blog....in fact take it off your blog following list. I, for one, am not a lost soul. I know exactly where I am. Admire toy, I do sometimes get lost but there is a wonderful thing call a map.

You might want to take the scotch egg advice.

    2. I thought it amusing that mr pruitt did not reply but you did chris. What is it in GOING GENTLY that keeps you reading?
I am not a christian ( well perhaps i am in actions and not belief) I am gay ( born agains HATE gays....especially practicing gays( and boy have I got some practice in !)
So by rights you should not be approaching within a mile of Going Gently..but there you are still reading!

Why Chris? Why do you still follow my blog if what I am goes so much against your chosen grain?

      Delete
    3. As reluctant as I normally would be to get involved in such a meaningless discussion, I am reminded about how Chris - before he found his way on the narrow path - was utterly obsessed with sex, and how he was wracked with guilt because of it. In my experience, those who are the most vociferous in their homophobic opinions are the ones who deny any understanding of it, precisely because they cannot bring themselves to admit to any - even the slightest - tendencies toward homosexuality in their own make-up.

      Delete
    4. And if I was to choose my lifestyle from a book like Chris has, I'd go for one that had me living in the woods under the name of Sanders.

      Delete
    5. Chris is probably secretly gay and has a crush on John. That's my best guess as to why he's still lurking around here.

      Delete
    6. Bi would be one guess. Ravenous would be the other.

      Delete
    7. @chris - go fuck yourself with a sharp stick, you jealous homophobic knuckle-dragging shit-eating loser!

      Delete
    8. Oh god, this sounds like the rantings of one of those Southern Baptists from the 50s who would rant rave carry on and then have affairs with their neighbors wife/husband. Hell ... who knows what and where and if there is such a thing. Ask a child in India.
Stop reading blogs might be a good cure for what ails you Chris.

      Delete
    9. Chris should spend a couple hours with me. I'll bet I could take him to heaven....

      Delete
    10. Chris, you consider john's blog and several other regular posters blogs amongst 'the cool blogs I read'.

Why read regularity if their way of life is so abhorrent to you?

      Delete
    11. Help me Chris! I have been drawn in to the evil maelstrom created by the gay Welsh anti-christ. How can I find The Lord? I looked for him when a little Syrian boy was washed up on a Turkish beach and when agent orange was sprayed over the forests of Vietnam and when my lovely brother lay dead in his open coffin with his skin like cold candle-wax and when our babies died and when the tsunami hit Thailand and the south coast of Sri Lanka. Yes I looked for him Chris but of course I could not find him anywhere because the whole thing is just a dumb story that has evolved from the darkness of the middle ages. In fact, it is you who is the lost soul Chris. For psycho-sociological reasons you have subscribed to a pile of utter bullshit. Get real and see the light.

      Delete
    12. Good advice Miss Pudding, but I am afraid those who have their heads buried in prejudice and bigotry's arse don't want to see the light because it would show them for what they really are.

    13. I think it's time that you, Chris, really find out about Jesus instead of using him as an excuse to condemn others who don't believe the way YOU do. And if you don't approve, no one is forcing you to read these blogs.

      Delete
    14. I am a Christian. I have tears running down my cheeks because so many who claim to be Christians make those of us who are look like dolts. I can't stand people who pick verses out of the Bible to use them against others. It's true that the Old Testament says that a man should not lie with another man. But the Old Testament also says that if your children misbehave, then you should kill them. You don't hear so-called Christians bringing up that one, do you? The "law" of the Old Testament is replaced by the gospel of the New Testament. What did Jesus say about men marrying men?

That's right: nothing. Jesus said to love the Lord with all your heart and to love your neighbor as yourself. You might not consider yourself a Christian, John, but your actions certainly represent the reality of true Christianity. My son has decided he is an atheist, but he acts as if he's a Christian. Any person or animal who needs help is safe in my son's hands. He rescues animals. He has prevented a rape. If someone has a broken-down car, he stops to see if he can fix it, and he asks for no money. You are a good person, John. It's that simple.

  24. I'm a recent 'lurker' - but puzzled by Ukrainian Village references started from the beginning and a couple months ago got all caught up! Of course love the blog. Even might be able to blame you for getting my dog, maybe. Long story.

Anyhoo - the forces of negativity and darkness - in the form of Mr Pruitt - have attacked. The forces that want to divide us and don't care who and how many get hurt in the process. Seems fitting to remember what Mohamed Ali said when facing the same forces.

Impossible is just a big word thrown about by small men who find it easier to live in the world they’ve been given than to explore the power they have to change it.

Impossible is not a fact. It is an opinion.

Impossible is not a declaration. It is a dare.

    Impossible is potential.

    Impossible is temporary.

    Impossible is nothing.

Mr Pruitt - Love is love and it's really sad you don't get that because it means you spread hate, which must be a hellish place to live in...

John - Juno (the baby bunny killer, but thankfully ex Piranha dog) and I sent you love and thanks for your blog. Caroline xx

  25. I only hope that Mr P reads our comments, though I do have a fear that most of them will confirm himself in his own mind as a 'martyr', proudly wearing them as his own, personal 'crown of thorns'. I can't see anything at all changing the fixed opinions of people of his ilk, even if it was necessary for us to make him aware of what so many of us think.

    1. Mr P? Do you mean me or Pruitt? I wager that Pruitt is a Trump man and Trump does not wear a "crown of thorns" but a crown of palomino horse hair.

  26. After eliminating "Cup Cakes and Soft Furnishings" and "The Welsh Dog Man", Mr Gray of Trelawnyd chose to call his blog "Going Gently", I wonder what Mr Pruitt's blog is called?
    "Going Bitterly"
    "Pruitt Knows Best"
"God's Holy Messenger on Earth" ?

    Any other suggestions?

  31. I don't think he is a "better man"... I think he knows how unpopular his "Christian values " are with the rest of us! By the way, I am Quaker, from the Evan family who came over from North Wales in the 1600's!
