I am off to bed, after a so so day.
My husband has been home all of 23 hours before heading off today for another week away from home !
The news today has been shite,
The weather has fucking changed to rain!
And I'm skint!
Thank god for pets!
For as I have just sat quietly in the livingroom without tv or music, thinking about all the shit in the world
Mary has spent the last hour licking the f*ck out of the inside of Winnie's ear-hole
The sound has been strangely soporific
The sound has been strangely soporific
Happy days
Thank god for animals is right....that and watching a seed sprout are what keep.me going...and great humans like yourself...
ReplyDeleteAs to the things that are happening in my country...I apologize from the bottom of my heart ...those of us who want so desperately to change are gun laws seemingly unable to fight the NRA. After the shooting in the elementary school I thought" it has to change now."..but these guys are too big and too rich to fight...at least so far..
It's like watching the end of the Roman Empire....
Then I pat the animals and pick something from the garden and think ...why don't people just want this??? This is so wonderful..
To say again what's been said many times "Why the hell can't people just get along "
work together we could have an amazing planet
Yes, it feels like we're never going to have more sensible gun laws. Sandy Hook, Aurora, Charleston, Orlando...the list just grows & grows.
DeleteNever apolgise for someone else my friend x
ReplyDeleteCorrection...our gun laws are .
ReplyDeleteThank God for pests indeed. I see Trump has not wasted any time in calling for a ban on all Moslems to the U.S. - the idiot. That gunman was a born U.S. citizen. As far as Obama's gun law restrictions go, it's far too late for that now. Even the NRA say, 'Guns don't kill people, people kill people', and I am afraid they have a point. It's an attitude.
ReplyDeleteIam doing a Rachel......i am concentrating on bulldog ear licking
DeleteI admit to having one of those few blissfully unaware days ... The news was not on, the daughter chatted about this and that and did not know about any news either ..we shopped in a massive store then took a drive home through a pretty neighborhood with amazing homes .. all blissfully unaware.
ReplyDeleteI was sitting outside with the cats and having a cold soda and checked my emails and saw the news.
I would rather be blissfully unaware.
I grew up in the US South. Everyone had guns/rifles in their homes. No one I knew , growing up in that place, ever shot another person or themselves.
Today is a mix of horrors, cultural, political and religious and just plain insane people walking around with access to guns .
today sucked ass. period. :(
ReplyDeleteSweet Mary...reminding us that love still exists.
ReplyDeleteOur animals remind us what pure unconditional love and acceptance truly are...
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm cooking beans and potatoes and carrots from the garden and probably drinking too much and every time my mind goes to what happened this morning it shuts down and I am remembering when someone I loved with all of my heart told me that he was gay and I took him to a gay bar because...and it's too much and I can't stand it.
ReplyDeleteI took a 6 hour nap.
ReplyDeleteWe must press on in our own lives and bring beauty and love where we can. And pets are a good antidote for days like this.
ReplyDeleteHolding my fur babies or just watching their funny antics gives me joy. It does not take away the horror that I see on the news, but it gives me a reason to smile and some peace and space from all this evil that humans do to other humans.
ReplyDeleteSleep well and know that you make the world a bit better with your writings and pictures. Thank you for that.
ReplyDeleteWinnie looks like she is really enjoying Mary's grooming ah pets they can lift our spirits with a lick and doe full eyes.
ReplyDeleteI'm not trying to make light of the news but I need to as it is so depressing but love will always win over hate in the long run.
Never again. Oh that it would be so.
ReplyDeleteThe look on gorgeous Winnie's face...absolute contentment - oh that we could all feel the same !
ReplyDeleteWe are bombarded with awful news stories consistently. Simple pleasures help to detract from the horrors of the World. I think we tend to magnify our thoughts when we are alone. I hope you manage to keep busy whilst Chris is away. You could even organise his sock drawer for him! x
ReplyDeleteI have only just heard the awful news as spent yesterday gardening then visiting the open gardens in our village blissfully unaware of all the horrors around.
ReplyDeleteOur animals make us laugh all the time; today they are there for us to stroke gently in silence.
Yes John. With all the terrible things going on in the world at the moment it is easy to get into this kind of mood. Hope those four four legged friends are able to pull you out of it. Love xx
ReplyDeleteYeah, I've been cuddling cats for hours. Sunny here, but I don't care.
ReplyDeleteAlways look on the bright side of life....some days hard to do. Our fur babies certainly help!
ReplyDeleteI think I want to stop watching the news altogether .... the world is a shitty place, sometimes I'm so ashamed to be human, the animals have the right idea.
ReplyDeleteAnd no the lick, lick, licking of Suky on the edge of her bed doesn't soothe me it drives me mad, nothing soporific about it at all.
Next week she'll turn up , wanting to buy eggs and your *face* cheeks will be so red! Power walking in crocs is quite impressive, I kinda shuffle along....
ReplyDeletelizzy
Some days, my comfort comes Whisker's, Raja, and Tiger being loving ordinary animals who know no hate.
