Welsh terriers never give up and have endless energy. The things that used to drive me crazy about Winston (our welsh) were the same things I missed about him when he was gone!
She is a good Mum but she need to let Mark have it. This is when you step in with a No and squirt with the water bottle. Winnie need a nice treat after this. I lurve her.
I should tell you..... Once a had an older Rottweiler female named Morgan... and my neighbor had a young , puppy German Shephard...and we would occassionally walk our dogs together. It never failed this puppy would constantly nip at Morgan's ears and jump on her etc... Well i guess Morgan got tired of waiting for me to stop the nonsense and took matters in her own hands...er...paws... In two seconds flat she grabbed that puppy by the neck and had it flipped onto its back , growling and making an awful racket... Now Morgan mind you was as good natured as your Winnie...She would let young children hold onto her back and patiently walk them up and down the hallway while they learned to walk... Well my neighbor and i tried to pull them apart and could not do it... I got a good look at what was going on and i saw BLOOD! So we doubled our efforts to tear them apart and finally managed it and got a good look at the damage..my heart was in my throat at what we might find.. I mean Morgan is Rottweiler .... as it turns out Morgan had grabbed the puppy by the throat and just held it there and did not bite down BUT the puppy bit its own tongue in the process and thats where the blood was coming from... Morgan was teaching the puppy a lesson and the puppy did have more respect for her after that... So there is a tipping point.....Winnie will set things right one of these days but i do hope at some point you do step in and make Mary stop... I think Winnie is expecting you to save her. Hugs! deb
I love them both - the pest and the patience. The more I look at this video, the more I realise I have life's philosophy in front of me: do like Winnie; problems bite at you; ignore them and they will eventually roll off. Greetings Maria x
I think that Winnie must be getting quite a fan club by now....and I bet that one day, out of the blue, she will have a go at Mary and boundaries will be established. I don't think she is being patient. I think she is biding her time!
Poor Winnie, John, I'm surprised you are continuing to allow Mary to attack her. You should have stopped her when she first started - it's easy enough. You've let her get away with it for far too long and she's in danger of turning into a little tyrant. You won't be very happy if Mary tries it on some other dog, and that dog turns on her - they aren't all as tolerant as Winnie. I hope Vera is right - and Winnie is just biding her time.
Winnie does not mind the abuse, i suspect thats the product of having puppies. They do playfight together too, but winnie is incredibly gentle with the terrier and never looses her temper When mary gets too boisterous she is removed and peace reigns, Strangely Georgehasnever been touched
Perhaps Mary sees Winnie as her Mom. Glad you do stop things when Mary gets too boisterous. I wouldn't like to think of Winnie being hurt- she has a big following out here !
Good old girl, Reminds me of my situation, new girlfriend 25 years younger constantly clambering all over me, demanding conjugal attention 4 times a day, 5 times a night did I mention she was 25 years younger!!! Not complaining, just telling everyone who will listen! 😁😁
John Gray's Mary has been all over Winnie !!! Just as well William gets his full title and not Willy. As we don't want to talk about John Gray's Willy !! We can't be having that can we ;) xxx
I had to come out of the woodwork and have a Winnie fix. I was also wondering if you were going to blog about the Sheffield golfer who won the Masters! Well done!

ReplyDeleteWinnie ought to let her have it! My Ginger puts young George in his place REGULARLY. And he's a better dog for it, too!
ReplyDeleteWinnie deserves a really good treat!
Win you is a sweet, tolerant and maybe lazy dog.
ReplyDeleteGod. St. Winnie. Bless her dear old heart.

DeleteSt Winnie. The patience of that girl...
ReplyDeleteI see a Nobel Peace Prize wending its way to Winnie. When Mary is pulling at Winnie's skin that must hurt.
ReplyDeleteOne wants to play, the other doesn't. The story of my life!
ReplyDeletePerhaps Winnie was trusting you to save her from Mary..

Nothing like a good shiatsu massage
ReplyDeleteExactly my thoughts!
DeleteI know this may seem a strange question but what's the terrier actually doing?
ReplyDeleteIts play dominence behaviour , almost mating behaviour.....she's getting excited and wants to get one up on the old gal
DeleteHow very curious (I know, you can tell I'm not an animal person at all)....
DeleteBless her heart!! What a dear baby. That Mary is a rascal!
ReplyDeleteAwwww bless Winnie....what a little angel she is.
