I do believe Albert won that one, but doubt he will in the future. So cute that Mary thought she'd hop right up on the table too. Cat hair and muddy footprints on the tablecloth; such is life with animals.
HA! Oh my God, I love that Mary is on the table. Has she not learned cats are the rulers of all things that give them a height advantage? This way they can survey their slaves.
I agree, ALbert is the winner. He's not going to let some fresh pup rule. In the first picture he already has his game face. It's sayin: "Oh hellll no, not today little pup! And the last picture he has pure satisfaction all over his face.
If looks could kill... Albert seems truly ticked off and disgusted that Mary should enter his realm. (Nice of them to not knock things over. I was expecting a wild scattering of feet and the whole table cloth off in the next photo). -Jenn
Gosh, your favorite American coffee mug does not have a long to live if this becomes a regular daily occurrence ! It was too close to the edge next to puppy feet. Really naughty of Mary but also so cute.
And the daffodils and coffee cup survived to live another day.
I remember Ginger being very shocked when Charley the pup could get to most of the places he could AND use the catflap ... he was not amused. That was when we started feeding him on top of the chest freezer, one of the few inaccesible places left for pussycat peace.
Daily life with furry people ... they can be taught that certain behaviors are not appreciated but they can't be taught to care about using that knowledge!
Ha ha John Gray, I just read this post and laughed, my girls asked why I was laughing, I said John Gray's Mary is on the kitchen table !!! Work that one out xxx
This has brightened my day.thank you John. I keep coming back to look at the pictures. The lovely yellow colours, Albert and sweet, innocent Mary have uplifted me. Greetings Maria x
LOL. After finding my dog on the dining room table a few times, checking to see if there was food left in the cat's dish, and giving him a serious "talking to" each time, he learned to only get on the table when I was upstairs. How did I know of his transgressions then? I'd find the cat's food dish had been "hockey pucked" off the table, something the cat never did.

ReplyDeleteI love the way the cat (is it Albert?) appears to be studiously ignoring Mary - as cats do. Mary is really an absolute darling.
ReplyDeleteShe knows it

ReplyDeleteCats will always win such battles doing what they do best; sitting and doing nothing but watching.
ReplyDeleteYay Albert.
ReplyDeleteWere you prepared to save you flower holders?
ReplyDeleteAdorable photos! Your Albert resembles my Bosco - including the tiny white spot on his "chest".
ReplyDeleteAnd I also have a yellow kitchen.
You're lucky, my two barely tolerate each other.

ReplyDeleteI know that Mary is the star of the photo but I do like the chicky prints on the wall. Sorry to be so nosey!

ReplyDeleteLooks like they divided your table up between them.
ReplyDeleteI think they should have been accompanied by Morricone-style jangling guitars and high trumpets.
ReplyDeleteI'd forgive Mary climbing on the table, she is so cute x
ReplyDeleteAmazing the flowers stayed upright.
ReplyDeleteHilarious. And so pleased to see that your little family also knows not to walk on the dining room table.
ReplyDeleteWho won
