ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your sister. What a thrill for all involved.
ReplyDeleteHappy family celebrations are the best. Unfortunately it seem most of the times we get together as we get older are just for funerals. So joyful celebrations are to be cherished. And your husband is very handsome. Did you put that twinkle in his eye?
ReplyDeletei was goosing him
DeleteSo full of joy and pride, your pics made me quite emotional.

What a wonderful honor for a life of good work, and you do clean up nicely!
ReplyDeletei still look like a fat farmer
DeletePerhaps better described as a well fed and successful farmer! (the saying in the family is that we all would have starved if my maternal grandfather had inheirited the farm).
DeleteCongratulations to your sister! And thank you for sharing such an honor with us.
Congratulations to your sister and you looked almost debonair in your tie! You have the right to feel proud!
ReplyDeletei dribbled cream down it after that photo
DeleteThat's what ties are for - to keep the shirt clean.
DeleteIt's not every family that can boast such an honour. The setting, the day, the cream tea, the official certificate... what a great day to remember. (You look good in blue). -Jenn

ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to honor someone! Also, I can't get over how much you and the prof look alike! If you put on some glasses and you both wore the same hat/clothes it would be amazing.
ReplyDeleteWe are all attracted to people who look like ourselves. John and Chris certainly prove this point.
DeleteWonderful news x
ReplyDeleteWhat an absolutely SPIFFING occasion! A sister of whom to be proud indeed. A handshake and hug from me to her too! (I only hope she can bring herself to unpin it every night before retiring.)
ReplyDeleteHow very wonderful, you must be very proud.
ReplyDeleteBravo! What an honor!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your sister, what a wonderful achievement. It looks like you had a wonderful family celebration. Xx
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Ann, recognition for work well done.
ReplyDeleteWearing a tie makes you look most uncomfortable John, were you red in the face because you were hot, or were you choking?
A great day for you and your family. I generally disapprove of the honours system when it comes to song and dance men, luvvies, ball kickers and the like, but actually means something for the 'ordinary' people who have devoted their lives to making things better for their communities.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely thing to happen. You all look very happy and proud!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to your sister! How wonderful!!!!
