I've spent the day gardening watched carefully by the two women in my life.

    1. This reminds me of the crazy cat lady neighbor's two cats. I first called them Thing 1 and Thing 2. Then, we started to pet them and brush them and feed them and buy them flea collars and put drops in their ears. Now, whenever they see us they come running over to get some loving. Last Fall I was carrying outdoor furniture to a shed about 300 feet back on our property. There they were, right alongside walking to the shed with me and back to the porch. When I finished carrying everything, I set up a nice metal chair in the doorway of the shed. And there were the cats, one on each side of me, sitting inside the shed just looking out at the expanse of yard and field.
I felt like the sphinx. I renamed them butterball and malty, btw.

  4. My cats and chickens like to attend me as I work outside. The chickens, especially if I am pulling weeds. They love to scratch in the exposed dirt. The cats pretend not to follow me because they are cats, but every time I look up, there they are. I do not embarrass them by commenting to them on their presence.

  5. Do the dogs eat all the poos? My dog did, every chicken, duck and goose poo was a delightful treat for her...We won't even mention, uh right, never mind.

  6. Someone is always watching - or have I lived in a world capital too long when I start thinking that way?

  11. What a great photo! My cats are indoor-only, and they are always around me when I am working.

Mostly so they can lie in my path and snicker as I go around the long way - or trip over them - but still.

  14. “Women?”

But, of course, dogs deserve to be anthropomorphized too. (Maybe you’re not a dog lover?)

For cuteness, I vote for the one on the left, but maybe the other gal is at least rich in personality.

    2. Well, after a lifetime of dogs, I have two cats, and it has slowly dawned on me that one of them, at least, is a lot more sensitive than his Stoic appearance had allowed me to imagine. I hope you post a picture of your surprised-looking cat.
