The bun fight which is the Trelawnyd Flower Show committee meeting took place around Auntie Glad's kitchen table this evening. It's like supper time at the Walton's house with everyone talking at once.....and by the time of leaving, my head is ringing with the frenetic good natured banter of it all.

I swear to you, John, just this morning as I was on my way out to the hen house, I was wondering if the plans for this year's flower show had begun yet.
ReplyDeleteI want to be Aunty Glad when I grow up.
Reading John's posts that mention Auntie Gladwys...
DeleteI don't think she grew up at all... older yes, up, don't think so...
too much of a twinkle in the eye...
even if she can't see much now.
Keep on truckin' Auntie Glad!!
Tomorrows blog will be about her tonight. She is 96 blind, deaf and still after 2 hours of muffled, twilight debate turned to us all and said " I have loved this evening"
DeleteThat's a class act
I'm already thinking about my novelty veg entry!
ReplyDeleteWonderful ...we discussed it and need 80 entries to fill the hall

DeleteI love your Auntie Glad. My mum was a Gladys - the English version.
ReplyDeleteNice looking bunch of Welsh folk - bet those guys can sing, and the gals rustle up some luverly scones, just like Auntie Glad, perhaps she even taught them in her kitchen!
John, couldn't you have set the timer and hopped in the pic with them?
They are the committee.....i just run it x
DeleteThey all seem to be laughing at the photographer. Who was that? Charlie Friggin' Chaplin?
ReplyDeleteThey love me! What can I say?
DeleteLike Charlie Chaplin, say nothing and just twitch your moustache.

DeleteOh God bless her, we all need an Aunt Glad in our lives.
ReplyDeleteMine was tiny, bent and frail but her looks were absolutely fooling. She was stronger than everyone :)
Seeing these photos is such a treat, putting faces to names in all the lovely stories.
I wish I had been able to visit the vegetable part of the Flower show, a few weeks ago I bought a zucchini .. it was the most pornographic zucchini I have ever seen. I would have So won that class.
I was almost embarrassed to buy it lol
A photo of Auntie Glad always brings a smile to this cranky face. Time to start planning for the competition, eh?
ReplyDeleteAarrggh....I was so cross when I saw the date....I won't be here and this year I was planning to come to the show.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful for Auntie Glad to have had such an evening with you all.x
It sounds as though a good evening was had by all - so glad that you didn't come to blows !
