Good word for me to know right now- I am packing up my house to move ... boxes and boxes of gummings ..
Meanwhile I looked up gummings and got my definition .. gumming / gubbing .. I give up.

Beaten to the punch. Again.I was thinking 'gubbins'. A phrase my mother used.
One and the same
Never heard it used on this side of the pond.
Just about to say Gubbins but beaten to it. And you from Yorkshire. Shame on you.
:-(
Enjoy your re-run ...
Never heard that expression before but now that we have the correct spelling I`ve looked it up along with everyone else here....basically, it means `the makings` I guess. Nifty word.
We say gubbins as my Welsh hubby grew up using it and never stopped..!
He drew up in Llangollen.
Did they show the prequel Fear The Walking Dead in the UK? You would like it too. That last show's ending makes me nervous for the group.
You are so literary. I love the new words I learn from you. As for Mr. Dixon, thanks but no thanks.
I love all comments Except abusive ones from arseholes
