I saw this shot on the Professor's twitter page.
The caption read " Having a sneaky sleep with Albert"
It amused me.
The Professor, like all successful academics seldom has " down time" He is constantly working and when he's not working, he's thinking and planning work.
It can be an exhausting, never ending vocation.
And so it's lovely when you see that all of his hard work has paid off like it did yesterday, for yesterday the Prof was appointed as the new " Head " of the entire School of Healthcare sciences at the University
I'm very proud of him and his strength of character when it comes to work, but his world at the University remains a bit of a mystery to me in many ways, but I always say to him ( with my tongue firmly put into cheek)
That I am the " wind beneath your wings"

YAYZ!!!!! for the professor! such a great honour! and a cute pix of albert!
ReplyDeleteconfidentially, he probably doesn't understand your world of animals and cooking and flower show doings.
have a great day, all of you!
Congratulations to the Prof.
ReplyDeleteAnd what a telling picture of Albert. There is a look in that cat's eyes
which is worth a thousand words. Wise animals cats.
A huge and hearty congratulations to the Prof!!! And a pat on the back for you...as the wind beneath his wings.
ReplyDeleteWell you're the wind somewhere.
ReplyDeleteThis post reminded me that I learned the term 'windy pops' from reading John's blog.
DeleteCongratulations to Chris!
Well done Prof! Also to you for keeping him airborne:)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! It is fun, but not easy being married to an academic.
ReplyDeleteAint that the truth
DeleteBehind every great man there's a great.... man! Congratulations to Chris on becoming the cherry on the department cake. This is a truly marvellous achievement.
ReplyDeleteCongrats Prof!!!! Albert still makes me think of Toothless, in the film how to train your dragon.

In that photo he really does !
DeleteRats, Yorkshire Pudding already used the line I was going to use. Congrats to the Prof- that's quite a position of responsibility. Honestly, it sounds from your posts, that you do keep the daily chores taken care of so that he does not have to think of things like animal care, meals, shopping, cleaning... Oh, and thank you for putting Bette Midler singing in my head this morning. -Jenn
ReplyDeleteShe looks great for 70 old Midler
DeleteCongratulations, but he couldn't have done it without your support so congratulations to you too!! x
ReplyDeleteyou are a true power couple!
ReplyDeleteSo many congratulations to the prof and to his main man
Congratulations Prof!
ReplyDeleteSuch nice words in every comment. I will get to the point. Does that mean more pay? You may well one day be a person who gives orders to minions about looking after the animals.
ReplyDeleteCongrats and well done Prof. Very sweet pic of Albert.
ReplyDeleteWow! Congrats to the Professor. You just keep on breaking wind under his wings.
ReplyDeleteFantastic ! Congratulations to the Prof ! and to you ...
ReplyDeleteLay off the cabbage x
ReplyDeleteCongrats from my time zone to the Professor! And if it helps, I don't really know what my husband does either, because I'm not allowed to know -- What I do know, is what matters and that's that it's a pretty good paycheck! :-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your Professor! Your are his foundation.
ReplyDeleteGreat news! Well done Prof.
ReplyDeleteHappily ensconced in Trelawnyd for a while yet then. :)
Congrats, Chris!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful news and you both must be very proud.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Chris. Your love and support contribute to his success. Love the photo with Albert.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you both! Sounds like it might mean more responsibility with even longer hours. Keep that wind blowing ...
ReplyDelete.....and I am the wind beneath the duvet.
ReplyDeleteBest reply so far!
DeleteMust get my eyes tested - I thought the exclamation mark was a 't'
DeleteCongratulations. Behind every good man is another. Well done to John, too.
ReplyDeleteCongrats, Prof! The cream always rises to the top.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Prof!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love your sneaky nap photo with Albert. You deserve and need downtime as much as anyone!
Very well done to the Prof, and to you John, for supporting him. Much love to Albert- what a handsome chap!
ReplyDeleteCongrat to the Prof. You must be very proud of him. And Congrats to you too John. There's something to be said for keeping home and hearth (and beasties too) in good working order. It makes the Prof's life a little easier not having to worry about those things. Three scotch eggs for you!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd no doubt you are...although it looks like Albert may be a close second lol. Congratulations to the prof.
ReplyDeleteWell done, Professor Chris! This has been a banner year for him... and you too, John!
ReplyDeleteI work in what we call 'academic medicine', in other words the medical school. We have a school of medicine, nursing and dentistry. I have an idea of what he does at work and honestly, I'd rather be walking the dogs and collecting the eggs. :-) Still, we need the high fliers to get shit done! And, as everyone else has said, he couldn't do it without you, Windy. xoxo
Please convey my hearty congratulations to the Professor. Albert looks as if he was roused for that shot.
ReplyDeleteYou don't look like Bet Midler John. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to both of you.
ReplyDeleteFabulous! Congratulations to the Professor!
ReplyDeleteVery well done Professor Chris!
ReplyDeleteI always love hearing about him interacting with the animals. Albert seems to enjoy the sneaky sleep too. :)
They've all said it already but I don't think it can be said too many times: Well Done to the Prof and Well Done to you as well, we all know that he wouldn't be able to do it if you weren't working your socks off to keep the home fires burning. xx
ReplyDeleteWell done the Prof and well done you for being so supportive x
ReplyDeleteYeeHawww Professor !
ReplyDeleteJob well done and you too John for being so supportive.
And for furry friends who love no matter what.
cheers, parsnip
And the pups and kitties will still treat him like a servant :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and felicitations, Professor Chris!
ReplyDeleteAnd John, I'm pretty sure your husband appreciates everything you do at home. It allows him to do his thinking and working without worrying about "home" stuff so much.
Well done and congratulations! That's huge (knowing full well how a University attached to health care works)!! :)
ReplyDeleteWell done to the Prof ... and to you .... 'the wind beneath his wings'.
ReplyDeleteBehind every good man is a man with a pack of baying hounds, a flock of birds and a puss cat ... and in mine and Lovely Hubby's case a woman with a pack of baying hounds, a flock of birds and a puss cat.
We are walking very similar paths and living very similar lives, we must keep eating those beans to keep our men airborn ;-)
Just make sure he doesn't overdo it. Being a Head of School on top of all his normal work is a tough gig. Remind him to take some regular R&R to recharge his batteries.
ReplyDeleteLet me just add my congratulations, to the Professor, and to you, too, John.
ReplyDeleteHuge congratulations.
ReplyDeleteGood news! Congrats to the Prof and to you too.XXX
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Professor! Does this mean you have to be his arm candy at more events?
ReplyDeleteWell done Prof! Nice to see you chillin' with Albert! :-)
ReplyDeleteMany CONGRATULATIONS to Chris!
ReplyDeleteAre you having the doorways widened to accommodate his head? X
Thanks for all of the best wishes , ive past them all on xx
ReplyDeleteWonderful news! Congratulation to the professor and to the Wind too.
ReplyDeleteHe's a belter.....Congratulations Prof !

On this cruise I just left, I had drinks one evening on board with a gay couple, he's a doc, when his partner was asked, he described himself as 'just another doctor's wife'. Seriously. From New England, they were in their late 30's, early 40's, affluent, one conservative, the 'wife' not so much.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I ended up liking the 'wife' a lot, the other not so much. The doc said he liked the cruise like so much because "they know how to treat me, like I deserve". I wondered if he was serious, a glance from his partner assured me he was.
Anyway, sounds like you've got a 'goodun' there, John.
Cheers,
Mike
Well done to both of you. He wouldn't be who he is without you.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
That's fabulous news.

ReplyDeleteAlbert looks evil here. Is that his "I see you rabbit" look?
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful honor, Prof.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations.
