Mid Season Finale TWD

The first four episodes of The Walking Dead have been crackers. The last four slightly less so, and I think the problem the show right now is that there is at least 30 characters to deal with, rather than the usual 15 or so.
Subsequently the show suffers from judicial editing ( to reduce the storyline to the manageable 50 minutes ) and the absence of liked characters for long stretches of time.
Out of the new characters , I kinda like the scared little boy Sam ,the boy that spends his life hidden away with  his toys in fear of monsters, the best .With his bad hair and bad complexion he is a baby Eugene in the making and his relationship with the scarred Carol Could be a wonderful storyline if the scriptwriters had enough time to explore it.

Sam loves Tiny Tim " tiptoe through the tulips"

I doubt they will, as the last time we see the little tyke is him mouthing " mom" after a small group of Alexandrians are surrounded by walkers in the last seconds of the show.
So Sam is a gonner , and hopefully so are a score of the more boring characters ( Eric, Olivia, Jessie, Ron, Enid , Father " Yawn" Gabriel and  Morgan ) natural selection within the cast.........a necessary evil in order to let the others shine a little more .
And so as we head towards the second part of the season in February ( February!!!!!!!) lets have less characters and more drama...the remaining  actors we have are quality material.

Is this the new Negan?
He's rather attractive !

    3. A little rescue dog from a shelter would be a wonderful Christmas present from you to you. And it would be a wonderful gift for the dog too. A dog can be for Christmas if it is for life :-)

    4. My dearest little white miniature poodle Bobi is a rescue dog. He is the canine love of my life . Notes from Abroad, I think a canine companion would be lucky to have you.

  2. Whenever they add a bunch of characters, you just KNOW that they are going to have to kill some off ....

  5. Neegan will be played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan (you can google image him, nice looking guy). I thought the episode was slightly, a let down. I think you are right, just too many characters. Very sad about Deanna though, really enjoyed her. Was hoping she'd make it to the end.

I hope Carol beats the crap out of Morgan. He's worked my last good nerve....

    1. I was sad that J D Morgan was going to be Negan - he will always be Denny to me... I think we may see mad Morgan back if the Wolf kills Denise.

  6. Not a show I watch, but I've heard from others that it's good and I "really should see it", but I'm not sure it's my sort of show.

  7. You might be right. The first few episodes were so intense I was getting anxiety attacks just watching it, and not things are a little shaky.

    Where's Aaron?

What has happened to Daryl's character? He's a ghost of what he once was.

We'll see. Overall, this season rocks.

  8. Another blog I read reviews this show also. I think they feel much the same as you do. They have been disappointed with the last 4 (?) episodes when the first four were so good.

    cheers, parsnip

  9. Never mind John, you've got all the fun of Christmas and New Year, then the stress of keeping all those New Year Resolutions, so February will soon come round !

  10. There has not been nearly enough Daryl this first half of the series. I agree Morgan has to die. I was cross that nobody tried to stop the wolf from taking the scared doctor character (can't remember her name), they should have shot him in the head but they just let him take her! I think Sam has to die and why, oh why, did Sasha, Daryl and Abraham get out of the van!

  12. The wolf is such a sleezeball. But I love the nurse/doctor character (Denise?). She is also a character on Nurse Jackie. She's great. One of the few overweight people on the entire planet it seems. Must be a Hollywood alternate universe. And yes, little Sam - he breaks my heart. I am afraid he is just too damaged to live in that world. But what young child wouldn't be? I worry for Judith. Aaaack.

  13. This is the new Negan. It's going to be hard to hate a character that has dimples like this. : )
