Winnie Thaws

Mary has been bouncy all day.
She has been working on Winifred's Ice cold indifference
with the gusto of an Olympic champion.
Just as things were winding down for the day,
And in the glow of the log burner during The Archers
The two finally made friends on the living room carpet

    2. I was thinking the same as Rachel, but being another cat person (well all animals really, though cats above all) I'll take your word for it that friendship has blossomed - and I'm mighty glad that it's happened.

  9. Ah yes,. . . The Waltons, Mary Ellen and Erin. That did not take long, did it ? I can remember asking big brother of 11 to hold little sister of 6 days, while I got something from the kitchen. When I quietly looked in the room, big brother was kissing little sister on the head very, very gently. Alls well that ends well. love Andie xxx

  10. It's a fact, older dogs, generally, will let puppies get away with murder....fortunately.....

  11. Well done Winnie. And what a splendid photograph of Mary and you John.

  12. Didn't look like Winnie was "making friends" to me, apart from when she got her arse sniffed and you could see her pause for just a moment to ponder the possibilities.

  15. Love it. Now I wonder if they'll start playing biteyface...Winnie could put Mary's whole head in her mouth!!

  16. It was as if Mary and Winnie were dancing to "The Archers" theme music but you should dress them in Morris dancer outfits next time! "La-la-lal La-lal-la-La..."

  17. The visual that came with Morris Dancing has me sitting here giggling. La Lalalala ..

  18. The joys of a balanced home! The sheer exuberance of a puppy does liven things up a bit.

Bulldogs always make me think of Winston Churchill, a man I admired very much, and I have no idea why. So if I am ever graced with an English Bull I imagine it's name will be Churchill.

What a blessed life you have.

  21. Errr ... that didn't look like making friends to me! Maybe after the camera was off?

  22. Poor Winnie, she didn't have a chance from the moment go with that charmer. She is adorable, she knows it, and she is going to play that card first with you as she already has, and then with the female queen to bid her favor. You go Mary!

  23. And you captured it! Good ol' Winnie's gonna get a few pounds run off her in the end. Watch them become BFFs now, giggling together in the corner and throwing you saucy looks.

  31. Oh the energy of a puppy, but I don't think I could cope with it again. The next dog will be an older rescue dog I think, nothing could replace Charley.

Suky met up with a lovely Bulldog in the park near Mum's the other day, they got on like a house on fire it was lovely to see.

  32. So lovely to see! I wish our other 2 at home would melt as quickly as Winnie. Its been 6 weeks and we are slow going. Being spoiled makes for bad company....

  33. I'm glad they're becoming friends. Mary's a firecracker, and her bark made me smile.

  34. She is a pip that little Mary. Perhaps Winnie will take her under her wing and teach her the ways of the cottage. :)
