Thanks for providing this information. I met Maureen O'Hara long ago in California at a cocktail party. She was there with her friend actor John Wayne and his wife Pilar Pallete.
Maureen O'Hara was as beautiful in real as she was on film, and she was charming and gracious. She will be missed.
She lived a long and interesting life. Her family said that she passed away listening to music from her favorite movie, The Quiet Man. I saw that film on TV when I was a young girl. It was and probably will always be one of the sexiest movies I have ever watched. Nothing was shown, but oh my, what it implied.
A very beautiful woman, some where I have one of those studio photos that were sent out to people like me who were very young and requested one. Have a vague recollection of seeing her once, did she come to Oz?
Beautiful and amazing. A true LADY. I have the Quiet Man and How Green Was My Valley DVD's and watch them often...They don't make em like that anymore.
Red headed beauty who could act - Jamaica Inn, How green was my valley as well as the Miracle

DeleteJohn, I wrote a blog post about this long ago, and I plan to write about it again in my next one (soon, I hope).

ReplyDelete"How Green Was My Valley" -- fab! Though I must admit I did not realize she was still alive. She had to be up there in age.

ReplyDeleteFantastic star John - just faded from view. Like Steve I hadn't realised that she was still alive.
ReplyDelete'The Quiet Man', the scene where he grabs her and kisses her passionately, leaving her weak at the knees. Brilliant. RIP Beautiful Redhead. x

ReplyDeleteA favorite of mine - what a great beauty and talent! And she was feisty off-screen as well; her autobiography is a great read :)
