Downton Abbey!
Is it me but what happened tonight?
Bates and Anna cleans some shoes
Lord Grantham puked up blood over the linen
And
The sweet natured Baxter did fuck all in court.
Heyho
Meanwhile
New girl Mary slept next to a neurotic bulldog in front of the fire
How the hell did Mary and Winnie get parts in "Downton Abbey"?
ReplyDeleteMaggie smith was ill
DeleteOh, I can't wait for the new season, it won't start here until after New Years.
ReplyDeleteIts comforting but its shite
DeleteI will have to wait for the new season until next year. I like it but then as a young child I loved Upstairs Downstairs and read all of the books. Good to hear that William and George are quite the dear boys in dealing with Mary. Mary is looking quite relaxed. I'm sure Winnie will recover in time .
ReplyDeleteAll's well.
ReplyDeleteawwwwwwww, bet soon mary and winnie will be best friends!
ReplyDeleteThe Season of Downton isn't on yet in the US/NY .. I will have to be careful reading here so I don't come across Spoilers ..
ReplyDeleteUh oh....John, if you post about Downton could you post "Spoiler Alert"? I live in the US (Illinois) and am a huge Downton fan, but as you know, we don't get the pleasure of the show until January 2016 :(.........I love your blog and read it everyday.......if I see "Spoiler Alert"....I'll just skip that day and catch up with you and The Prof on the next day :)........So thrilled Mary has arrived! What a great delight for you......Winnie will warm up to her soon, I'm sure, cause Winnie has a big heart!
ReplyDeleteBaxter's back? Damn I hate being on this side of the pond!
ReplyDeleteDid Baxter ever leave? I don't remember.
DeleteWinnie will not be able to resist resist the charms of sweet Mary and puppy breath !
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip
I only ever watched it once, and nothing happened then either. Nice set, nice costumes, good cast, no story! I'd rather watch goldfish swimming.
ReplyDeleteHaven't seen it and have no intention of doing so; I'll stick with WD... Btw, Fear the Walking Dead is very different from WD, but I like it as well as WD.
ReplyDeleteNo fear of getting the two series confused, but it is eye-opening to see how things develop in the time between onset and when Rick wakes in hospital.
Wee Mary and Winnie will probably have competitive moments, but be great friends withall. =)
If Winnie is already allowing sweet little Mary to lie that close to her, it won't be long before they will be cuddling up.
ReplyDeleteHave never watched Downtown, and no particular desire to, but it's a must with almost everyone we know. Never watched Walking Dead either, for the same reason. Now I've made this terrible confession will you block my comments and banish me to outer Mongolia? On the other hand, I love Scotch eggs.....
I've never watched Downton but I can see that there is almost as much action going on in your living room.
ReplyDeleteNice to see them close-ish on the first day :-)
We enjoy Downton. As I'm sure John would agree, not everything has to have zombies in it or be wildly exciting. :) (Cough, Bakeoff) We get it very late here in Oz too. I wonder if they do that to bump overseas DVD sales?
ReplyDeleteLord Grantham spurting blood all over the place was pretty shocking but soon it was all back to normal again. Little Mary looks like she has settled down nicely. x
ReplyDeleteDo puppies still pine for their mums the first few nights in their new home if there are other dogs to snuggle with?
ReplyDeleteWatch out for the new film with Maggie Smith 'The Lady in the Van' based on Alan Bennett's story - saw a preview yesterday and it looks great - Maggie Smith at her best.x Sweet doggie pic.I never watch Downton.
ReplyDeleteMary looks very happy already. I was expecting Lord Grantham to have a heart attack so what happened was quite a shock ! They went to town with the fake blood didn't they?
ReplyDeleteIn my humble opinion, Downton Abbey died after Dan Stevens and Jessica Brown Findlay left the show. The writers have been grasping at straws ever since.
ReplyDeleteAnd when the hell is hunky Thomas ever going to get some action??
No wonder he's bitchy. He's obviously sexually frustrated.
By the way - - here in the U.S. of A. we don't get to see the new season of Downton until January.
Last time he had a shag was in series 1
DeleteYou might enjoy these - I don't watch DA, but I liked these
ReplyDeletehttp://www.slate.com/blogs/browbeat/2014/12/24/downton_abbey_s_christmas_special_with_george_clooney_is_better_than_anything.html
Loved it
DeleteSorry about link thing lol
ReplyDeleteLady Mary was well spattered at the table, but upon her return from the hospital, she was clean as a whistle!!!
ReplyDeleteMary, Mary, quite contrary
How will your story grow?
Actually, I was thinking of puppy dog Mary, but it might well apply to Lady M. as well!!!
ReplyDeleteDA fan here, but we won't see the new series for a while yet.
ReplyDeleteLovely seeing Mary being tolerated by Winnie. Looking forward to hearing how the first night went.
'Mary? Where had she appeared from', I thought. So I had to read your last post to catch up, and is she not the most gorgeous little dog and I shall look forward to reading about her in future posts. Vx
ReplyDeleteI think your posts for the coming week should just be strings of pics of Mary and the rest of the gang and we would all be vey happy. Wouldn't we?
ReplyDeleteI didn't even realize Downton was on again. Time to check out the iPlayer!
ReplyDeleteNew, car, new pup - lots going on over there! Mary is adorable. I was obsessed with Downton the first 2 seasons - IMO it was all downhill after that :( Still watching, but glad this the last season! Sad and amazing that the writers couldn't even seem to make the last season interesting (so far anyway)...
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine went to dinner at some hotel near where much of this is filmed recently, and the guests found themselves being served by half the cast of Downton. You would have loved it.
ReplyDeleteI saw the 2006 version of Anna. She was in Life on Mars. I think she's had her teeth done since then...
ReplyDeleteI love Downton and don't mind the spoilers. I'm the type of person who sometimes reads the end of a book while only halfway through.
ReplyDeleteWe are incredibly behind here in Canada with Downton! I can't wait till this season comes out! What a lovely wee one! :)
ReplyDeleteGood to see the new pup settling in. I wonder if Winnie finds it hardest because she's been the lone female in the group since Meg left and doesn't want to relinquish that status?
ReplyDeleteAs others have mentioned, we get Downton Abbey late here; it'll be interesting to see how they wrap things up in this series.
