Tonight we have moved over the bay to the resort of Manly. Our hotel is wonderfully quirky.....Station Q is the historic quarantine hospital of the city of Sydney and we are staying in a corrugated iron clad single room of one of the wards. It's quite delightful
I am need of the rest as the Prof and I have just spent an exhausting enjoyable day, wine tasting...down the scenic Hunter Valley with a group of Aussie housewives.......
Great...great fun..........but not quiet or for the faint of heart!

Quirky hotels can be fun, relax and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteLook,at the size of the tasting glasses ...very generous. You obviously have staying power. Did you find a favourite ?
ReplyDeletePS: I find I have to be honest and say I'm enjoying a NZ sav Blanc from the Malborough as I type this. Maybe next time for you. Also OZ Taylor's Promised Land Shiraz is a good drop if you like a red. God I sound like an old soak.
ReplyDeleteOne of those glasses full and I'd be under the table!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a good rest and build up your energy reserves for your next adventure!
and you fit right in with the ladies! :)
ReplyDeletesuch adventures you two are having; the little village will seem so tame upon your return!
I am sure that there was an international ghost hunter episode investigating ghostly activities at Station Q.....
ReplyDeletethat would be right, a friend of mine stayed there and swore she saw one
DeleteThe ability to fall asleep while standing up holding an XXXL wine glass is very rare indeed.
ReplyDeleteCorrugated iron accommodation in Sydney? How extraordinary. You both appear to have had too much of the grape juice.
ReplyDeleteNote to Jennifer. While the glasses are large, the amount poured generally is not.
Andrew: not in my experience in The Hunter Or Mudgee.
ReplyDeleteThat looks like a fun wine tasting group.
ReplyDeleteI am with you both every inch of the way!

ReplyDeleteLove Chris's photobomb expression in the background! Party animals!
You all look rather merry!!!
ReplyDeleteA good day, then, with another fine photo for posterity.
ReplyDeleteThis is a trip of memories made to pull out and enjoy forever.
ReplyDeleteThis pic reminds me of Where's Waldo. The Prof of course being Waldo:)
ReplyDeleteI love the picture! Especially love your sweetheart in the back. What an expression!
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun! It's good to get your updates on your daily goings-on!
ReplyDeleteYou are having way too much fun!
ReplyDeleteHa - just spotted the Prof in the photo! Looks like you're both having a great time. Don't forget to look out for the penguins in Manly.
ReplyDeleteWe stayed in a former hospital in London. No worse for it. Have a great time.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you both are packing a lot in to do on your holiday.
ReplyDeleteI'm just catching up, John! It's my turn to be jealous of your fabulous vacation travels. You deserve them, and I'm glad you and the Professor are having many memorable moments together.
ReplyDeleteJust how manly is Manly ? I would love to visit Sidney.
ReplyDeleteMy grandfather was all set to take the family and move to Sidney, before I was born.
Those housewives look like Aussies for some reason.....as in how you would imagine an Aussie housewife, apart from the one with his eyes closed ! Isn't it funny, but as you are `away` I feel less shy of posting..I`ll be looking through your knicker draw next !!
ReplyDeleteYou two look like you are enjoying your time together! You both deserve it!
