Fat club was a bit of a trial this week
8lbs on!
What was I eating in Australia ?
LARD?
Luckily my fat club leader is one of those laid back, "couldn't give a stuff" types so no one pointed their fingers at me shouting " BAD SHOW FATTY!".....
" Most of that will be off by next week" she said with a shrug
She's an inspiration !
Anyhow,
Yesterday I did two 2 mile power walks around Gop Hill and already this morning I' ve done one.
At least the weather improved, so my post Australia blues were blasted away somewhat even though the village seemed deserted when I was out on my rounds
I haven't seen Auntie Glad for a few weeks but I knew she was alright as her trusty deck chair was set up outside her front door. When there's afternoon sunshine she's often seen sunbathing.
I'll have to tell her not to scone bake for us for a month or so...
John I am glad you are recovering from your post Aussie blues ... It's all back to reality and cleaning up shit. I love holidays when your mind seems to be free of all mundane aspects of life and the biggest quandary is should i have a gin and tonic or a glass of champagne. Hmmm post holiday blues , I hear you . I wish I could send you a sound snap of the Aussie birds today xx
ReplyDeletethe lorikeets and cockatoos were all out today
Deletexo
I had a couple of black cockatoos fly over today as well as done white ones . Xx
DeleteMeh 8lb - Holiday in OZ .- 8lb ... Defo holiday in OZ. The pounds will drop off... walking up GOP will definitely help. Three weeks of light meals will do it.
ReplyDeleteJo in Auckland, NZ
Geez it was bloody loud too xx
ReplyDeleteThat is a hilarious sign. Love it.
ReplyDeleteauntie glad gets plenty of vitamin D facing the sunshine. good for her!
ReplyDeletePerhaps Auntie Gladys can toss you a little watercress salad? Much better for you than a tin of scones or indeed your usual BOGOF bumper family packs of scotch eggs. I also love the top poster.
ReplyDeleteThe birds will eat the scones, return to a normal schedule and watch the intake and you'll be back to normal before you know it.
ReplyDeleteLove the deckchair outside the house. It seems Auntie Glad knows how to get the most out of life.
ReplyDeleteYou didn't get fatter, you just grew a little in our lovely sunshine!
ReplyDeleteLove the sign, I've shamelessly stolen it for one of my Pinterest pages ;-)
ReplyDelete8lbs is nothing, just over half a stone ... mind you thinking about it that is one HUGE stack of Scotch Eggs!!
Keep walking ;-)
Just send the scones my way; I'll make the sacrifice to save you from yourself!
ReplyDeleteIt isn't fat John tis extra to cuddle. I have just dug my trusty hula hoop out and am hooping to music for twenty minutes each morning. You can also hoop and watch tv if that is what it takes to keep you interested.
ReplyDeleteWeight gained quickly on vacation usually goes away quickly once we return to regular life. Not to worry, you will be back to your pre-Australia weight soon.
ReplyDeleteI know it's confusing, but that's Australian weight in those 8 pounds. It's counted differently in Wales. The way I figure it, you've lost 12 pounds. Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI'm up a few also...I'll hear all about it when I go to the doctor next month unless by then my appetite wanes. Fat chance.
ReplyDelete8 pounds = a good vacation!
ReplyDeleteYou went back- you faced the music. For that alone, you should be very proud.
ReplyDeleteYou are just retaining water. Gone in no time.
ReplyDeleteI also gained a few lbs whilst on holiday. Too many yummy baked goods, bread, and Scotch.
ReplyDeleteThat weight has just come to visit - sounds like you are already making it feel unwelcome, so it should leave quickly. (It's when you allow it to stay that it's hard to get rid of.)
ReplyDeleteJohn have you seen this ? :(
ReplyDeletehttp://www.chesterchronicle.co.uk/news/chester-cheshire-news/north-wales-clwyd-theatr-cymru-10074774
Bloody cutbacks !
Shame , shame shame on flintshire CC
DeleteIf it's just fluid retention you'll know it in a day or so. Our weather is rapidly changing to fall; snow is forecast for later today.
ReplyDelete8lbs = a good sized baby on our labour ward so 'congratulations' ha ha ha
ReplyDeleteThink of it this way, if you hadn't lost weight before you went away you would weigh even more now! That is what I reckon in any case!! Good luck, I know that it is a tough slog - trust me!
ReplyDeleteGood to know someone has a sense of humour to encourage you to face the music and dance !
ReplyDeleteYou did well if you only put on 8lbs in Sydney. Those restaurants along the Waterfront just aren't the place to go if you're popping into Fat club the following week. You are very brave - I'd have left the next weigh-in for a month or two !
Vacation time is too short to spend it dieting :)
ReplyDeleteBeing back home and into the regular routine will take care of it. Freeze the scones!
What a nice fat club leader who said "most of that will be off by next week." You have a beautiful village to walk in.
ReplyDeleteYou are allowed to put weight on on your honeymoon, it's the law.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it annoying the way it goes ON without any effort, but takes such huge willpower to get it OFF? Life's just not fair! But you had a wonderful time, and holidays are definitely not for dieting! You'll get there...
