860

My follower numbers have been up and down like a whore's knickers over the past week
And it's bugging me..... 860....863.....861.....now 860
Just lets round it off to 900 and be done with it......
Alternatively everyone just round it off to 800
It's irritating my slightly obsessive nature...............and my brittle ego
If you're staying , for fanny's sake just stay

  3. I've thoroughly enjoyed your blog now for a while, so high time I learn how to follow you properly. Thanks for your fabulously funny, thought provoking and at times moving words. You're words are very much appreciated.

  4. I quit posting that "follow" thing a long time ago. I don't look at my stats either.
    I am much happier.

  5. Still following though I facebook instead of blog. Your posts always start my day off on the right foot.

  6. Who would have thought that relentless tales involving both animal and human shit could attract such a following - and all without visuals!

  7. I'm an internet phenomenon

  8. Ok, I'll stop secretly stalking an follow you properly. But that means it'll be an odd number again? Oh dear, the pressure....

  9. One of the other volunteers here at the refuge walked into the office today and caught me counting on my fingers... made a crack about outgrowing that years ago. Heck, don't worry about numbers... I'm 73 (but who's counting?) and numbers don't mean a damned thing. (Honest)

  10. Can I follow you twice ?
    Would that help.

  12. I have very few followers and one fell away when I posted about gay marriage being legal in the US. I don't think it coincidence.

  15. Oh John, dear John, I remember when you were thrilled when your followers reached 200! I think you even did a blog about it, though I may be wrong about that. I often am. Congratulations, you phenomenon you, your numbers are growing exponentially and you'll reach 1000 before you know it. XXOXX

  17. Well, this is interesting to me, John. Just how important is this to you? And why? You're an introspective sort, you can make some guesses.
Um, are you paying yet for new 'followers'? Jim Jones had some success, though I'd suggest a different scenario....
Alas, I'm not a follower. Not sure even how to do it, nor will I follow any directions.
    Cheers,
    Mike

  19. I never follow anyone. I read you loyally and love your animals - so just to drive your numbers up I just followed you. Why is it only 860? Alas.

  20. I don't know how many I have, maybe a dozen or so. I have 38 pictures, but I know for a fact that most of them have dropped it. That's fine, I don't want my blog to feel like a job. Don't worry about the numbers, they will take care of themselves.

  21. I understand that your blog is very popular in Uzbekistan and The Islamic State Caliphate where it is often used as an instructional aid to fire up anti-Western sentiments. As converts fall like dominoes so some blog followers will be lost.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I have already followed you. Twice. I adore you unreservedly.

In fact, you should subvert... or would that be convert?... untidy but attractive young men who seek to emulate you in every way. Publish your blog posts under the title : John's Wisdom of Poo, Fannies, and the Occasional Pussy.

Your young men can go door to door, passing out your words of wisdom and collecting contributions toward the First Church of the Holy John. You couldn't possibly come a crapper with that one.

  23. I'll be glad to set up multiple free emails and follow you under all of them...would that help? And hey, if you want to shave off some, send the my way, I obsess with the fact we're stuck at 535ish...

    I think it's a blogger thing...

  24. It's been so long ago since I found your blog, I can't remember if I ever did follow you. I think I did! I'll try again just to make sure!

  25. Sorry John, I thought I'd already followed, but did again and number went up to 864 yay !!

I haven't followed anyone before, but I read you every single day, and enjoy your stories and thoughts and photos so much, I made it official. (If I did it right, that is!)

  27. If I'm going to read everyday then I guess I should follow, so I did.

  28. Wow 867 only 133 til you hit 1000

  29. I get upset as well when I lose a follower, so I must have a 'need to be loved' thing as well! But what inspires me to carry on blogging is when I look at the statistics, which are going up and up and up! Don't know who is reading my blog, but God bless them whoever they are!

  30. Yesterday my daughter called me a lurker. I was offended. I enjoy reading several blogs, including this one. Am I as despicable in Blogland as she has suggested? Is there any hope of redemption for a 70 year old Australian?

  32. I don't think the follower numbers are accurate. You have my permission to ignore them.

  33. Be grateful it's not 666.

  34. I have never done " following" on the blogs I read, but will give it a go if it makes you happy ! x

    ReplyDelete
  35. Well, I tried, but it was asking questions I didn't understand, and the number is still 860 so presume I am not added on.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I'm 870 and plan to stay for the long haul 'cos you make me laugh.

    ReplyDelete
  37. OK, I've been hovering for a while but you're such a hoot and you brighten my day, so I'm joining. Hope I don't have any trouble in the process like Frances did...

  38. may as well join the "official" bit as you are my first read every morning, and have been for many moons too. xx

  39. Hell, on my old blog I had 110 followers. On my new one I have 26.
    Quit complaining.

If my knickers go down, will I get more followers......or less??

    1. I've noticed that gay bloggers get a helluva lot more followers than straight ones.

Perhaps my mistake is that I've never officially announced that I'm gay.

  42. I don't follow the blogs I read. I just enjoy them for what they are - a laugh, at times a tear or two, and always a jolly good read !

  43. I shall continue to call on you metaphorically every day regardless of what your followers' numbers are - one of my dreams is that one of these days I shall find myself passing through Trelawnydd and shall be able to knock on your door and surprise you. Just hope that you are not cleaning up dog poo when I cann (this seems to be one of the tasks you perform almost every day).

  44. I am still here! You start my day and make me choke on my breakfast!
Will you be posting in Australia? At least then I will be able to read at a normal time & not when everyone is in bed!

    ReplyDelete
  45. I'm still here, following happily and enjoying your blog. Just sick as can be with a wretched flu that keeps going on and on ...... Xx

  46. I have obeyed oh god of blogs and am now a faithful follower!

Actually sighing that I had no followers, I have just looked at my blog and realised the very subtle blue yet magical wording '1 follower'. I have a follower; I am amazed and over the moon.

  47. Why would anyone want to leave? This blog is the "happy" in my day. You are very dear to so many!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Glad you spoke of it. Some of us do look at the number. Must be our personalities. I was kind of hurt that my number has always been low as it does take a lot of work sometimes. I finally ignored it as I enjoy reading other's blogs so much. But still, after such a long time... It made me quit posting so much.

  49. So many people leave Blogger in a year or two, but their faces still remain on my blog. Mine says 177, but In reality, I probably have about 25. It matters not, I love them all. Numbers don't matter, a kind word now and then does.

  50. And I'm #874 apparently. I've been a faithful reader, so sure, why not sign up?!

    ReplyDelete
  51. And you leap up to 876! (I was already following you on feedly)

I need to try the tactic you used here as a way to get new followers.

I have 93 followers (sometimes). Personally I'd be happy if just the folks who actually comment stayed on and the rest dropped off. Golly...then I'd have like, ten followers lol.

  53. I don't follow on FB, but I have saved your blog link in my blog list, so I "follow" you that way.

Give Albert a nose beep from me, please and thank you.

  54. Reading your blog is one of the highlights of my day!

    ReplyDelete
  55. LOL -- according to Blogger I only have 27 followers. So if I were you, I'd rejoice! (I don't really know how they come up with that figure, though. I'm suspicious of it. It's probably really less!)

I don't think I did because I just checked and it was like... hey ho...there you go.. my lovely little cats face up there.... I couldn't not follow you John, you and Chris, along with all the fur babies (feather ones too) make the start of my day bearable!! And long may it continue!!!
