Well I am surprised it's taken so long for another Zombie based tv show to surface
given the success of The Walking Dead
But tonight Z Nation started on Sky ( thanks catlover for the heads up)
Dont worry, I won't be banging on about it with the excitement and loyalty I have for the likes of Daryl Dixon and Carol the housewife badass
It's a load of crap!
I was so disappointed I had to go up to the spar garage
Where I bought a pork pie
( they don't sell scotch eggs)
Oh, what a disappointment for you. No, seriously - liking Harry Potter as much as you don't,I really understand, (snigger...)
ReplyDeleteI'm unconsolable
DeleteInconsolable, unless you know better than a pedant like me. I said pedant, not pederast.
DeleteJohn, do you like to be corrected?
DeleteIm used to it
Delete"It's a load of crap."
ReplyDeleteMuch like The Walking Dead then?

What? THREE times this time?! (Is it cos I am using a Chromebook? Or are my comments zombies that keep coming back? A few other commenters seem to experience this unwanted duplication, but not many).
ReplyDeleteI GET YOUR POINT!
DeleteThat's funny.
Delete"I was so disappointed I had to go up to the spar garage
ReplyDeleteWhere I bought a pork pie"
Oh, yes, I know that feeling! Emotional eaters or what, eh? And what's more emotional than not liking our entertainment? lol
Upset by a poor zombie tv show is only rectified by a scotch egg
DeleteSeems to me it was on here, last year. think cuz D. J. is in it.
ReplyDeleteJust wait for the real thing! Anything else will be a knock off! I can't wait for the new season, though it always comes on at a time that interferes with my favorite Brit shows on PBS! …never mastered the DVD recorder! Last season was such a cliffhanger, I think I know where my allegiance will go!
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame they couldn't come up with their own ideas :P
ReplyDeleteA new show here is "iZombie". Totally off the staggering path. She is a Dr., bitten by a zombie, but she can avoid going drooling if she has a continuous supply of brains. Apparently this is an industry, selling brains. She, however, is a medical examiner and has free access. AND she assumes the memories and characters of the murder victim. A very light hearted look.
ReplyDeleteSorry for rambling.
Oh John !
ReplyDeleteI an so sad that your sad that the sad show is sad and that makes you sad which makes me sad.
Did the second prickly pear zombie I sent you, at lest make you smile ?
cheers, parsnip
Yeah, I tried last year to watch it and just couldn't get through it. But I bet I could get through a pork pie!!!
ReplyDeleteNow we DO get Fear the Walking Dead in about three weeks. I think you all will get it the day after like the regular Walking Dead. Hopefully you've see the full length trailer for (after months of teasing). Just in case, here it is:

Spin-offs are usually rubbish. Pork Pie is the perfect antidote.
ReplyDeleteBut pork pie is a spin-off of that much loved original, pork...
DeleteZ Nation has been my guilty pleasure for a while, its the tongue in cheek humour that i like , it gets better as it goes along
ReplyDeleteThat will be the half a stone back on then! Hope it was only a small pork pie? We have pork pie for Xmas Day breakfast ( with Branston and brown bread and butter)..it is a Leicestershire tradition, where I am from.
ReplyDelete"Half a stone"? On behalf of Skinny John may I point out that the certificate says one and a half stone, not half, and I have just calculated (yes I have) that this requires about 200 pork pies to put back on. So John has a lot of eating ahead of him to get there (but I'm sure he'll give it a good go).
DeleteI hope you took a photograph of that pie to stand next to that certificate saying you had lost one and a half stone, then every time you had passed them you would have been eaten up with guilt.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the lady yesterday, had experienced a series of TV disappointments
ReplyDeleteI hate to break it to you but there's no such thing as zombies. Never have been and never will be. You might as well be watching Noddy and Big Ears or "My Favourite Martian". All pure balderdash (in my ever so humble opinion!).
ReplyDeleteWell I totally agree with you.it was a load of old tosh.I was also very disappointed. As usual another American import that failed miserably.Nothing can live up to the walking dead so why bother?I think there are several reasons why TWD is so good.not only is the writing superb but the characters are well developed and we actually care what happens to these people.I love the understated way Norman Reedus plays Daryl. Can't wait for October when it's back.
ReplyDeleteAlthough certainly no expert on this issue I am confused by your "As usual another American import that failed miserably..." criticism
DeleteProfessor Wikipedia tells me "The Walking Dead is an American horror drama television series".
To explain Andrew.I'm a huge sci fi fan and I have lost count of the amount of new sci fi series that have looked amazing on the promotional trailer but have been very disappointing to watch. There are a few exceptions though.Defiance and Dark Matter being two.
DeleteAlso I don't like it when zombies move fast.it's just not right!
ReplyDeleteIf it drove you to pork pies it MUST have been bad ;-)
ReplyDeleteWe watched it as a filler for the absence of TWD. Twas alright. The best bit was when my OH said "now this bit is just unrealistic" (when dude in charge went back in to hunt down creepy zombie baby) ....errrrrrrrrrr. ..what do you mean 'this bit' I really hope its all unrealistic. ...no one actually wants zombies to be real....do they ?!
