    4. As a youngster, i was rather a naturalist. I remember going every few days to dig down along the same ant nest to see what tunnels they had built since last time. Tthey must have gnashed their anty teeth when they saw me coming! I don't remember getting stung though. They must have been very harmless sort of ants! Ant lions too, I found fascinating and was always trying to dig them out, trying to tempt them to the surface by throwing in more hapless ants! Yegods! I was quite disappointed when I finally caught one and it didn't look like a lion, though it did have a very impressive set of jaws.

You're definitely not "cardboard", John (is that a private joke??)

And I'm HIGHLY disappointed in your anti-donut stance. It's like I don't even know who you are anymore. ♥

  19. Yep, I have to agree with the others in that we need to see for ourselves whether you can dance or not. Also, those 16 people that you gave CPR to, how many survived? The survival rates here in the US are not good. What does RMN, RGN mean? Did you mean to poison the fish? Sounds out of character for a big old softie...

  20. If you still have that de Haviland Polaroid it's worth money... if you don't... well, now isn't that a shame.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I wondered about the CPR too. We now have a defibrillator outside the charity shop paid for out of village events money. There was an information session in the community centre where I gather use of the defrib MIGHT save someone suffering cardiac arrest.

    great list John x

"Kimmy Fry slung his leather biker's jacket over the banister and entered the steamy bathroom. Sandy was waiting for him, soapsuds sliding down his/her naked limbs. Kimmy cast his purple silk boxer shorts on the linoleum floor then forcibly pushed open the shower cubicle door. Sandy gasped with delight as Kimmy.."

  29. So #2 (Olivia De H. polaroid) must be unique, then - and not just one of those publicity shots produced by the crateful. Should be worth a bob or two by now.

#10 (colourblind) is interesting. Completely? If so, you see a rainbow as shades of grey?

I baulked at #16 (koi carp) but you're forgiven for being the age you were. But only partially, mind!

#19 (Poseidon) Why that film above all others? Not that it's bad, in fact it's pretty good - but I would have thought that there'd have been plenty of others you'd have known by heart before that one.

    Could go on.........

Fairly recently I started a list of things I've NOT ever done, which a lot of, even most, people have, and for that reason some of them may be surprising. But got bored with it. Got it here somewhere. May resurrect it and post in my own blog, maybe in the manner of 'Find the One Lie."

  39. I love the fact that you wrote to Olivia de Havilland as a 16-year-old. That is CLASSIC. Do you still have the Polaroid?

I used to re-watch, over and over, the Podeidon Adventure scene where the ship turns upside down, and I would act it out in our living room, tumbling over all the furniture. The disaster movie I can recite virtually word-for-word is "Earthquake," which I have seen at least 100 times.

I refused to learn to swim when I found out I had to put my head in the water. face first.

I sent Ronald Reagan a letter and he wrote back to me :)

The next dog I get will be the first dog that will be wholly mine, no one else just me. and the cats. They aren't commenting on that.

I can't even watch parachute jumping on television !!!

I have a strong affection for donuts. with chocolate.

I have been offered sex but not in a hospital ...thank god.

Though recently widowed, I was married so long I cannot go out without my ring, it just doesn't feel right. Plus they are all so pretty. I still wear them.

I am only colorblind when it comes to people :)

I am what some people call a "cheap date" .. it only takes about 2 drinks to get me silly. I stop there because I worry about things now.

I have never hit anyone in anger. I said some pretty awful things though.

I dance. I dance better when I have had a drink.

I have been doing my blog since 2010.

    Never killed a carp.

I kissed a policeman, on duty , on New Years Eve, in San Francisco, 1969. He kissed me back :)

I cry buckets over 1 human death and 1 pup.

That was fun. Yours is funny. and fun. Do it again next year and add to the list :)
