Sunday morning is a time for The Archers omnibus and lunch preparation . Chris is doing something in the Church in Dyserth, William, Winnie , George and Albert are still sleeping in bed and only Meg is downstairs keeping me company.
She's not well today. She's had the runs overnight and is off her food today. I tried her with the dry toast test this morning and she politely ignored my offering which is a worry.
( Our old breeder always told us that as long as a dog eats dry toast when off their food there is no major things to worry about!)
At eleven , as the Church bell started to ring we had our walk around the village as usual but it was clear that Meg's usual exuberence was noticably absent even though it was warm and sunny
We stopped outside the Ebeneezer Chapel and listened to the tiny congregation belting out their hymns in Welsh before heading home.
I could hear them singing, their natural harmony wafting after me as we working ambled slowly down Chapel Street towards the green.
Ebeneezer Chapel
Chris is working incredibly hard at the moment. Too hard. He was away most of last week and will be away most of the next so I am beginning to feel a little like a war widow..
I think that we may go and see a rubbishy disaster movie at the cinema this afternoon
Young Cameron has been busy designing this year's Flower Show poster and posted me his draft just yesterday. He's done a grand job
If anyone would like to start to send me their photo entries
For the NOVELTY VEGETABLE COMPETITION
please do
My email is jgsheffield@hotmail.com
Have a good Sunday!
Lovely photograph of the two of you. Am also impressed with the flower show poster - excellent.
ReplyDeletePoor old Meg - I am so sorry - when our pets age and begin to be ill it hurts - as they can't really tell us what is the matter. Hope she is a bit better by tomorrow.
Is the weather not good where you are? It is terribly windy here and Spring has not yet arrived but if it is warm with you I would laze in the garden rather than go to the cinema. Give Chris a rest to recharge his batteries for tomorrow.
Poor Meg! Hope she's better soon xxx
ReplyDeleteMaybe going to the cinema is both of you's way of relaxing?
Lovely photo of you both.
The poster is very eye-catching, well done Cameron!
Great photo of you and Chris. You must be worried about Meg - so difficult when they can't tell you what's wrong.
ReplyDeleteGreat poster for the event. Charming pic of the two of you. Sorry to hear Meg is ailing - hoping it will pass.
ReplyDeletei hope the cinema does the trick
ReplyDeletelove to you and Meg
xo
That is a lovely picture of you and Chris.
ReplyDeleteThe poster is great.
I took some shots of my novelty vegetable entry yesterday, will have a look see what it has come out like. Kind of first proof. May need further work.
Enjoy you day and I hope Meg is all right.xx
Poor sweet Meg. I hope she feels better soon.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of you and the professor.
That's worrisome about Meg. I've heard that boiled chicken and rice are good for them when they have bad tummies. That poster is an attention getter!
ReplyDeleteLinda that is what I give my Square Ones, boiled chicken and rice.
Deletecheers, parsnip
Take care, enjoy the ones we love when we can
ReplyDeletec'mon meg sweet gal, get well soon!
ReplyDeletetwo boys in love - awwwww!
the poster is FAB; well done, cameron!
Awwww, poor dear Meg. It is so hard when pets are sick since they cannot tell you where they hurt (like what Weaver said)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to hearing about the movie you'll see - we're all about the big films these days. Cannot wait to see the new Jurassic Park!
It is worrying with Meg. It is really hard when our pets age . A really lovely photo of you and Chris . Hope Meg is ok . X
ReplyDeleteBeing a person of a certain age, I expect you know full well what the entries will be for the novelty vegetable competition. As for Meg, you have lost in the past and while it is never easy, Meg is rather my favourite. I am so superficial and attracted by looks and Meg is a looker.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little face Meg has; I hope she can rally and enjoy life for longer. I'm a supporter of the 'sitting in the sunny garden' form of relaxation - a comfy chair, a good book (or lovely feller!), a pot of tea = blissful relaxation. Just what the doctor ordered.
ReplyDeleteOh, bless her. I hope she perks up soon!
ReplyDeleteP.S. I don't know if you knew this, but tinned pumpkin is amazing at clearing up diarrhoea! Aldi sell it occasionally, as does Tesco in the American food aisle. I know she's off her food, but it might be worth a go. My dogs love the stuff!
DeleteI thought you meant you use it as a kind of mop.
DeleteGet well, Meg.
ReplyDeleteSending wishes to Meg for a soothing day, to Chris for a restful day (or at least the latter part of it), and to you for a cornucopia of photo entries.
ReplyDeleteI do love that photograph of you and Chris. I hope Meg perks up soon. Dogs can be such a worry when they are ill and cannot tell us what's wrong. I've never heard of the dry toast thing with dogs, only humans. Maybe try a bit of roast chicken. X
ReplyDeleteYou two always take a great photo ……. it must be lurvvvve !!!!
ReplyDeleteCameron is a great asset to the Trelawnyd Flower Show Committee and has done a brilliant job.
Thinking of poorly Meg and hope she shows some interest in food soon. XXXX
I hope Meg improves soon.
ReplyDeleteY'all make a cute couple. Hope you can spend more time together soon.
Thank you for the picture of you and your husband. It's lovely. You two are lovely!
ReplyDeleteI hope Meg makes a recovery. We all do, you know.
Meg any better yet? I hope so, she's too sweet to be feeling poorly.
ReplyDeleteThe poster looks great!
Hope dear Meg is feeling better soon.
ReplyDeleteThe first two blogs I look at this afternoon both feature ailing doggies, which (as with any suffering animal) always results in my carrying a weight around inside. Now that I've got two to weigh me down if I come across a third, going to have to go to bed.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry about poor ailing Meg. She looks like such a sweetheart.
ReplyDeleteI love any photo I see of you and Chris. Such a photogenic pair.
Good picture of the two of you!
ReplyDeleteCan I suggest adding the year, 2015, after August. It will be useful for the local historical record when someone comes across the poster in 50 years time.
ReplyDeleteMay your little, wee one be well soon.
ReplyDeleteRoughly translated, The Ebeneezer congregation were probably singing - "Keep Wales Welsh! Gather your torches and pitchforks together in memory of Owen Glendower! Let's drive the incomers out!"
ReplyDeleteGreat poster. Think you should charge more than 25p per class entry.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about Meg, I hope she perks up soon and it's nothing serious. Lovely photo of you and the Prof.
ReplyDeletePoor little Meg- get well soon. Sorry to hear that Chris is away again this week - the disruption must be hard on both of you. Well done to Cameron on designing the poster. It is very bright and cheery and up to date too.
ReplyDeleteCameron's poster design is great but at the top "Committee" needs a capital "C" and more significantly "Show" needs a capital "S". Probably easily remedied.
DeleteAlso:-
Secretary: John Gray,
Trelawnyd. (Punctuation)
Once a teacher always a teacher.....
DeletePoor, poor Meg. I hope she is getting better now.
ReplyDeleteLove the happy photo of you and your husband.
The Square Ones are sending WOOF'S to their cousin Meg !
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip
Cameron selected a great combination of colors for the poster. The green for the main print shows up well against the white background and against the yellow flower - he has a good eye for design.
ReplyDeleteHope Meg has regained an interest in food.
Thanks all for good wishes ( and Hannah the idea of the pumpkin)
ReplyDeleteStrangely enough i had some in the larder, but she wouldnt try it.
Later today she did eat some butter bread but refused chickem!
( work THAT one out)
We didnt go to the cinema either........Chris slept most of the day
( he needed to)
We'll see how we go to tomorrow
I'm saying a Meg prayer right now; it couldn't hurt.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that Meg is still of colour :-(
ReplyDeleteDoes Chris know there is a person in that jumper he nonchalantly draped over his shoulders ;-)
