My old girl is poorly.
The xray showed some sort of mass on her liver
Her bloodwork may support this.
I've already said no to any surgical input, so it's a change of antibiotics (!)
and a case of watching if things will change in the short term.
She's eaten some chicken but only because the other dogs were begging for it
and now she's asleep.
They break your heart
Thinking of you John.x

ReplyDeleteAt least she's sleeping peacefully. Has this come on suddenly? I remember she was having bowel issues. Hopefully the medicine will help her rally. Give her an extra tickle for me.
ReplyDeleteYes, they break your heart. What makes us go through this, again and again? Is it something totally right or wrong with our human condition?
ReplyDeleteSweet Megs, at least she ate a bit. I could cry.
Hugs, John

ReplyDeleteHow I hate coping with shit things like this,so sorry you're having to go through this but you have your husband at your side.
ReplyDeleteOh John! I read your previous post and you've been in my thoughts ever since. May she go gently into that 'good night' and may you know the peace of having done that last kind action, even while your heart is breaking. I'm weeping as I write.... not easy to see the screen. Hugs to you, an a gently head rub for Meg.
ReplyDeleteAs long as she knows that you're looking after her, I'm sure she'll be happy. Extra treats, extra attention, lots of love. Cro x
ReplyDeleteOh, dear, lovable, little Meg. A dark cloud has appeared over so many of our lives thinking of you. We're sending you loads of love-beams so that your days may be at least comfortable - and do know how much you are regarded in our affections. Bless you, little girl.
ReplyDeleteWhat Raybeard said. I've asked the cats to send along some purrs.
DeleteThis is sad news. They break our hearts, yes, but only because they fill them to overflowing in the first place. My thoughts are with you. Such a hard thing.

ReplyDeleteTimes of loss are hard indeed. I know what you are going through. So sorry, John. It comes to all of us, but that doesn't help the low feelings.

ReplyDeleteReally cherished, warm and safe. Lovely teddy Meg
ReplyDeleteIn a nearby heartspace with my own Missy. She's 14, refusing all food now - not a good sign in a cat. Went to the Vet's about noontime, but they're closed until 3:30 pm. I plan to be there with her when the door re-opens.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness for the love of other beings....
ReplyDeleteKeeping Meg and you in my thoughts. Get better, pretty girl!
ReplyDeleteThey do break your heart - I couldn't do it any more after Susie. Love and big hugs to you both xxx
ReplyDeleteThey do break your heart. I still think of my Vanessa every day, one year later.
