Its a celebration The Florence Nightingale Foundation maintains the legacy of Florence Nightingale with scholarship programmes, annual conferences and a commemoration service.
A perfect spot for the pomp and circumstance of academia, without which we would be a grey society indeed. Lovely to see nursing getting the academic respect it deserves too!
Was it a fancy dress competition or an audition for "Call The Midwife"?...Oh now looking back I see it was a Florence Nightingale Foundation event. Good on Chris!

Very cool, indeed.
ReplyDeleteDoes the robe color have anything to do with anything?
The robe colours are the robes of the university they graduated from. The floppy hats are worn by PhD holders.
