Mother in law is glued to the tv
Watching the door of St Mary's Hospital
Watching the door of St Mary's Hospital
She thinks the new baby is going to be called Alice
Chris has been harrumphing in his armchair and keeps swearing at the banal tv reporting
When asked what he would call the royal sprog
He pulled a face and shouted " Gertrude!" Rather unhelpfully
I'm plumping for Betty!
Alexandra or Charlotte would be nice. Or even Alice .
ReplyDeletePs. Diana's middle name was Frances .... Unlikely for a royal but you never know! Love from frankie. !
ReplyDeleteSuch fun!
ReplyDeleteThe prince has a baby? Kidding!
I kind of feel sorry for any baby of any kind of celebrities - it is such a public life and the baby didn't ask to be born into it. On the other hand, these two royal parents seem to be pretty grounded and their children will benefit from that.
ReplyDeleteVictoria ( Vicky ) Charlotte ( Lottie ) Alexandra ( Lexie )
ReplyDeleteMy dog is Lexi
DeleteEveryone loves a baby. There will always be an England. Alice.
ReplyDeleteI was told off for harrumphing in my armchair and swearing at the banal tv reporting. Chris is clearly someone of considerable discernment in such matters.
ReplyDeleteI've been harrumphing while not even watching the telly. I think that trumps the earlier harrumphers.
DeleteI'm not so sure. Chris's harrumphing was in public and appears to have been quietly tolerated. Mine induced admonishment from others. Privately harrumphing (even if not viewing the proceedings) is not quite the same level.
DeleteHe can harrrruuuummmph for Britain
DeleteHarrumph...
DeleteI'm hoping for Elizabeth since it's my namesake, and granny will be pleased I should imagine.
ReplyDelete~Jo
I'm a proud and happy Royalist today :) I'm betting on Alexandra. Second name Diana
ReplyDeleteI think Elizabeth Diana would be a lovely name for George's sister. That's the Royal George and not your furry terrier. :-)
ReplyDeleteAs long as they don't name her Bertha or Hepsiba, it'll be all right.
ReplyDeleteI personally can't stand children - - royal or commoner.....
Bah humbug
DeleteMy daughter is horrified that the baby might be Charlotte , they named my Granddaughter Charlotte because she said it was not a commonly used name . I plump for Alice
ReplyDeletevictoria elizabeth might be nice.
ReplyDeleteEmily would be nice.
ReplyDeleteIf it was a boy I would opt for Dick, and if a girl, Fanny.
ReplyDeleteFanny!......love it
DeleteReally?
DeleteWell... Actually not really
DeleteWell actually not
At all
Hey ho
I thought I was immature.
DeleteDiana has got to come into the long list somehow and does anyone else find that young George has always looked like an old soul?
ReplyDeleteXO
WWW
Alexandra Mary.
ReplyDeleteGeorge is lovely isnt he. How cute
Me holding out for Daisy... or Buttercup. Even a nice, solid Fern would be a breath of fresh air.
ReplyDeleteButtercup ?
DeleteNURSE THE SCREENS!
Aaaaaaaaaaaas you wiiiiiiiiiiish! Although I'm not quite the manly specimen Wesley was.
DeleteActually, Alice would make me smile quite a lot. Granny would have had a giggle about it.
I'm ashamed to say that I watched the door of the Lindo Wing for a while John !!!! I'm plumping for Rose 'cos I thought that I saw William say it …….. I really don't think that Diana should be a contender. That would be a very heavy burden for her to carry. XXXX
ReplyDeleteTracy or Chardonnay...
ReplyDeleteI like Alice or Alexandra.
ReplyDeleteIt is to soon to be weighted down with the shadow of Diana.
cheers, parsnip
I hope it's something new and just for her.
ReplyDeleteI'm rooting for Princess Peach. I'm sure Will is an avid Mario Kart player.
ReplyDeleteYou are sssoooo american lol
DeleteNot bad, considering he's from Australia, lol.
DeleteNot watching the tele. Harrumphing from afar. I wonder whether the Royals have been tempted to take a leaf out of Bob Geldorf's book in the naming stakes...
ReplyDeleteIsabelle may.......just because I like it
ReplyDeleteIt's at such moments that the British folk display their most embarrassing traits ...
ReplyDeleteI wondered if you would chirp up
DeleteHaha ever the royalist me !!!!
DeleteKill, kill, kill em all
DeleteIt's a baby born , I hope they are well ....the argument that their child or children are more important than any other child born is just deplorable John .....that's the part I just don't get .....
DeleteTo be fair , only the media make him a superbaby not wills and kate
DeleteI like the sound of Elizabeth Anne. Congrats to the new mom and dad and little Prince George.
ReplyDeleteWho really cares....
ReplyDeleteQuite a lot of people do......sometimes its nice to focus on some mindless nice news for a change.
DeleteBelieve me
I worked last night in itu
We worked our tits off
And one patient was a woman who had just had a baby
The baby arrived on itu at 7 am with dad
The nurses all stood and clapped....it was a lovely moment
I'm sure it was - but I still don't give a fuck about rich idle people producing more rich idle people. Real life is much more rewarding.
DeleteI'd call her Diana. Middle finger to the paternal side of the family ;-)
ReplyDeleteNO NO NO to Diana!!! Love Charlotte though.
ReplyDeleteWhatever her name...I am sure she will be a beautiful little girl.
ReplyDeleteAlice is a sweet name. I also like Louisa and Penelope.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the child will end up with three or four names and at least one of them will be Elizabeth.
I'm hoping your postpartum lady picks up soon!
ReplyDeleteThere has been some very ignorant reporting around the birth which is pretty irritating.....
Princess BUNTY.
ReplyDeleteBetty would be nice. I'm thinking Elizabeth would be an appropriate name. But then, I kind of like Gertrude, too!
ReplyDeleteCharlotte? Alice?? Hermione? (I think not)
ReplyDeleteVictoria Elizabeth Diana would be my guess.
ReplyDeleteMercedes Chelsea Frogmella ....proper Essex name !!
ReplyDeleteSeeing as the she was born on my Mother's 82nd birthday I think they should give the baby the same names as Mum - Erna May. Nah - don't think that's likely to happen!! Might name her Elizabeth like me though - and then she can still be called Princess Betty. Believe me, when your name is Elizabeth you've heard every derivation of the name going - and there are an awful lot of them.
ReplyDeleteYour Royalist sympathies will have to be spread even thinner now, J.G. Or, as I suspect, you have an inexhaustible supply. I bet you're in your element.
ReplyDelete(I've just posted on another blog my name suggestion of...... 'Daisy')
Chris is bloody right. What on earth was the point of the BBC news channel reporting from the front of a closed hospital door with some poor bimbo trying to fill in dead air time with nothing to report. Give me strength.
ReplyDeleteTia - Maria Ethelberga Star Madge gets my vote! x
ReplyDeletePrincess Kylie??? Well I am an Aussie!
ReplyDeleteMy mother was called Doreen and I think this would suit the little princess very well... Princess Doreen has a nice ring to it.
ReplyDeleteSharlene, Chantelle, Raylene, KC, Mercedes, Bri'onnii good bogan names to choose from.
ReplyDeleteMy guess would be Alice Diana Elizabeth. I got baby George's names right, I just guessed his middle names in the wrong order.
ReplyDeleteThey should tell us soon, a May Day Bank Holiday is a very good day for announcement. Perhaps I should turn on a television or radio and then I might actually find out!!
