Am I silly to be troubled by the popularity of TV shows and video games that involve endless blasting of bullets into people or people-like things? A genuine question. I sometimes think I have been affected more than I realise by the Dunblane massacre near to me, and whose bereaved parents are still seen around and about from time to time. I'm not trying to be pious. I just think of these tv shows and films and video games every time someone goes nuts and walks into a school or a workplace and blasts away at random. I am not suggesting you are likely to do so, as a spraying with remnants of sneezed scotch egg is probably the greatest danger you pose. Have never watched TWD, however.
Andrew....... The walking dead is merely an updated version of THE TOWERING INFERNO or THE POSEIDON ADVENTURE ...its a 1970s disaster movie.........some live some die.........".its not real..........its just fun rooting for your favs.... Don't over analyze it Chill
I don't recall endless pumping of bullets into things in The Towering Inferno. Have not see the Poseidon Adventure. It's the effect on a tiny unstable minority (thinking mainly of video games I suppose) that troubles me. I discuss these things with colleagues in America who teach classes knowing some students may be carrying guns and many certainly have access to them. I don't think we are over-analyzing. We are just analyzing.
Only 5 months, believe me it will go quickly. I just found out is already May already what happened to April. Is it to soon to ask how Mrs. Muir and Max are ? I am happy she is in with Phillis Diller they will keep each other happy.
Oh Gawd ... you mean we have only five months of chicken, fanny cloths, pink slippers and the hilarious goings on in Trelawnyd before the murder and mayhem caused by these bl**dy zombies takes over again.
What shall we do? I suppose we will wait.
ReplyDeleteWe have to..more's the pity
