A Day Off

Well thanks to Eirlys & John ( who have taken four dogs to their bosoms) and John & Mandy next door ( who have looked after the field) I have been given a pass to accompany my husband to London for a quick overnight jaunt.
I'll be back in Trelawnyd by noon tomorrow, The Prof is working in tbe capital for most of the week.
We've crammed a lot in

The Prof & I in The British Museum)

A quick visit to the British Museum ( above)
A cracking Indian meal at Dishoom at Covent Garden ( we had to queue outside!)
A walk town along the River
A free organ recital at Westminster Abbey ( I've never been)
Drinks in Soho
Followed by cinema at Leicester Square
( " A Little Chaos " with the fulsome Kate Winslett)

It's been a cracking Day

  6. You know, I think the Prof has quite warmed to your blog. He's in pictures now, and may even be taking some, though I think your arm is responsible for this one.

  8. Ooh, I'm going to "A little chaos" tonight. Alan Rickman, yeah! Sounds like a lovely break, Like Jo, I'm impressed with how much you've crammed in. I love the B.M. In my younger days I worked at the Natural History Museum for two years - I love museums!

  10. I sincerely hope that Eirlys & John haven't literally taken your dogs to their bosoms as they could have their nipples bitten off and what would life be like without nipples? One of God's better inventions in my view.

  11. That's what I love about Europe, you can just take quick day-trips to entirely new countries. In Australia it's literally an 8-hour drive just to get to the nearest state capital.

  12. Ohh, I had a meal at the place in Dishoom...the one in Covent Garden maybe? Spicy lamb chop as I remember....that was back when I was consulting with the company in Kent.

  17. When you have responsibilities 24/7, it is really a treat to have them suspended for even a short time and do things that feed your soul.

    Great photo!

  18. You've done more in a day than I do in a month. Cute photo.

  19. How on earth can you do all that in one day; The British Museum itself takes a month (at the least).

  20. Gorgeous photo of you and your husband (and I love the frequency and pride with which you use the word).

  21. Nopr, not a bit romantical, are you? I'm in a state of envy just now, the one (!) Indian restaurant in town has tumbled from the top of the deliciousness heap to the bottom of the 'I want to go again' list.
They once did a crackin' khorma, a brilliant biryani... now even their naan is dicey.
Ah well, sounds like a fabulous day, glad you got to accompany your husband!

(I only see that film in a few days time. Hope the largely negative reviews I've seen are wrong. But you already know.)

  26. Looking forward to the review of 'A Little Chaos'. Big fan of Mr. Rickman but shy away from directors who also act in the film.
