I'm spending the day sugar soaping the kitchen walls prior to decorating.
It's a grotty but necessary job on a cold and misty day.
In the living room William and Winnie are embarking on an epic and silent struggle of who will occupy the little Edwardian armchair in the window.
Neither dog is backing down in this war of attrition which has lasted over 45 minutes .
and returned a good while later to see which dog had won the war
Bless - all snuggled up. I currently have three cats on my bed. They are tolerating each other for warmth & comfort !
ReplyDeleteWinnie may be bigger but I wouldn't bet against a terrier!
ReplyDeleteSo agree with you !
Deletecheers, parsnip
William looks more comfortable than winnie
ReplyDeleteVery sweet x
ReplyDeleteSugar soaping? Surely this is not what I am imagining.
ReplyDeleteawwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! :)
ReplyDeleteSharesies. I think that's the sweetest post you have ever given us.
ReplyDeleteHa ha ha...I love a dog with persistence. It looks like a tie. I would have bet on Winnie.
ReplyDeleteAh well better to be slightly uncomfortable, but nice and warm, than to give in and look like a loser in the eyes of the others .... or Dad :-)
ReplyDeleteA compromise was met!
ReplyDeletesweet.
ReplyDeleteIt's like watching a glacier move - but cuter.
ReplyDeleteO.K., Martha Stewart, could you please explain sugar soaping for the 'uninitiated' amongst us?
ReplyDeleteAwwww how sweet!
ReplyDeleteMay I suggest a slightly bigger armchair.... Compromise!
ReplyDeleteNeither look very comfy...bless their hearts!
ReplyDeleteI had to Google "sugar scrubbing"...learn something new everyday.
They look so cosy, like me and Twiglet on the sofa but we're wearing jim jams :)
ReplyDeleteTwiggy
Did you have rubber gloves on?
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny, and kind of heartbreaking! But they have worked it out. Sorta.
ReplyDeleteA draw. The sort where no-one wins and no-one loses.
ReplyDeleteBless....love it
ReplyDeleteSharing. Warmer that way. :-)
ReplyDeleteThey look like the way I feel when I'm with Willy Dunne Wooters. What is sugar soaping?
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
That's cute. We have two dogs too, both greyhounds. One is a ten year old 'tripod' called Sid - he's the easygoing one. The other is a twelve year old with various medical problems associated with aging, and a temperament I can only describe as close to autistic. One thing he will not tolerate is Sid getting into bed with him. However, if Jeff really wants the bed Sid is in, or if he's terribly worried about something (like his food station has been moved a foot to the left) he will sometimes creep in behind him, trying not to be noticed, and snuggled up.
