Trelawnyd Carol Service

It's a bit of a local blog entry today as I promised I would big up the village carol service which takes place this Friday night at the Church. I am working that night so won't be going, but I am calling all Trelawnyd folk to make the effort on these cold dark night and attend.
The congregation will be using our slow cooker to keep the mulled wine warm ,
I have already been reminded to make sure there is no remnants of chilli con carne on the inside of it! ...as there was last year!
Everyone's a critic!

  2. There's a Czech guy in Vienna who brews a range of 7 beers in his pub which is called appropriately the Seven Stars, (Sieben Stern Brauerei) and one of the beers actually contains chili. I've never tried it myself though.

  5. Carol must have been much loved if the village is to stage a concert in her memory at Christmastime. I find that bits of old meat add body to one's drinks.

  6. You nearly always add a detail which transforms a pedestrian item of information into a subtle insight into the human condition. (Or at least yours!).

  7. Aw how I wish I was at the Carol Service. We miss this being in the boondocks. In SA these services are held early in the evening the church is packed and the outside temperature is 35 deg Celsius! I love the idea of mulled wine even with the remnants of chilli in it. (thus spake the vegetarian! LOL) xxx

  9. Hey, you were just adding a bit of spice to the mulled wine!

Hope you have an easier shift than the last one.

  10. If the wine is red, I see no problem with chili remnants. But, for the critics have a strainer at the ready.

  17. Remnants of the chili in the mulled wine, oh ick. Just the idea! I would love to fly in from California to attend the services. Our church just announced a great idea, our Christmas eve service offering will all go to Turkey and our people there to help the refugees from Syria who are in Turkey.

  19. I've heard of mulled wine, but I don't know what it is. I'm tempted to Google it for a recipe and serve mulled wine on Christmas Eve.

    Love,
    Janie
