I feel a bit less snotty today
I am getting bleeding sick of feeling sick
Things were looking a little better until teatime
When
I was just sitting down to watch
Strictly
When, I let out a huge cough
Farted at the same time
And heard something pop in my back on the left hand side just under my rib cage
I think I have pulled a few muscles
It's excruciatingly painful when I cough though not when I breath
Oh tits
I'm off to bed
Strictly is still on you cant go to bed yet. John, I wish I was 20 too. x
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot of us out here in blogger land who wish we were 20 again John....Take care....do you have a heating pad?
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be twenty (or heaven forbid a teenager) again for any money. Thirties perhaps...
ReplyDeleteGet better soon - and look after yourself. Please.
I have a birthday tomorrow and I would give up all my wiseness to be 20 again. I'd just start over without a care. Sorry you are sick. Something has been going around that causes a horrible cough here in my neck of the woods. My cousin's wife had been coughing so hard she cracked a rib. I am getting ready to go in hibernation for the cold/flu season because I don't want to be around any germs. The older I get the more of a germaphobe I become. Hope you are soon feeling better. I thought everyone had a TV in the bedroom these days!!
ReplyDelete"I thought everyone had a TV in the bedroom these days!!" - nope. I never have and I never will. now some good books, YES PLEASE!
DeleteWell, I have the TV on and read too. It's a habit of being alone and having tinnitus!! Comforting voices and dulling of the ringing!
DeleteHope you haven't done too much damage to your ribs and you are soon feeling better!
ReplyDeleteOh, no... I wish I was 20 stone. Take care of yourself, there's only one of you.
ReplyDeleteOh My Goodness !
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip
Never cough and fart at the same time! Wish I was 20 again knowing what I know now. I think. The Argentinian Tango was brill, especially the lift at the end. Get better soon.
ReplyDeleteYou sound like that Rod Stewart song, John: "I wish I knew what, I know now, when I was younger." Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteOh you have my extreme sympathies John, not that I ever fart... but as an asthmatic cough quite a bit despite meds and I have had a serious coughing fit and put my back out on several excruciating occasions. Get well soon. xx
ReplyDeleteJo in Auckland, NZ
Hope its gone by the morn. And no dogs sitting on you meanwhile.
ReplyDeleteWish I was twenty, too. Feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteCoughed and farted?! lol Sorry you've hurt yourself, now it will be Vick and Ibuleve.
ReplyDeletei think you are well entitled to wallow for a little bit!
ReplyDeleteOuch - you poor thing. I cracked a rib due to having a hacking cough once so I hope that's not what you've done. Take care x
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself, you are at least 20.
ReplyDeleteoh my dogs and cats! you need a nurse to get you well again!
ReplyDeleteI hope Chris or some kindly neighbours are checking in on you. x
ReplyDeleteTits and bollocks. But not twenty; you'd be just as bad off with that maneuver under the influence of alcohol. Although I cannot recommend a good time. Hope you're better for your shift.
ReplyDeleteI wish I just had my 20 year old body again...it could bounce right back from any sort of insult - though a simultaneous cough and a fart are quite the challenge. Please heal up soon...
ReplyDeletePoor lamb!
ReplyDeleteBless your heart!
ReplyDeleteHeal soon.
I think that having a new ill/injury just when you think you're improving from the old is much worse than getting sick/injured in the first place. It just seems so unfair! I hope you wake up feeling better.
ReplyDeleteI was pregnant when I was twenty. Favorite Young Man was born just a little more than a month after my 21st birthday. That was a very difficult time in my life. I will stay right here at 55. I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
I wish I was 30. Or 40. Or even 50.
ReplyDeleteGet well soon, John.
Just 60 would be fine for me, Terry, but 20, 30, 40, 50 are far, far nicer.
DeleteI am 24 and sometimes I wish I was a child again. Get well soon John.
ReplyDeleteTo every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
ReplyDeleteA time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; (Ecclesiastes)
The time to die comment worries me just a little
DeleteCoughed and farted at the same time..must have sounded like an accordian.
ReplyDeleteJane x
Hahahahahahaha xx
Deletewell, as you know it's likely intercostal muscles, and a result of deconditioning of said muscles.....you'd probably experience the same thing if you did some weird yoga maneuvers. Nothing works except time, and a goodly dose of anti-inflammatory.
ReplyDeleteHow cosmopolitan!! :-)
ReplyDeletePersonally I would go to bed specifically to avoid 'Strictly'.
ReplyDeleteSending good thoughts for a speedy recovery. Get well, dammit!
ReplyDeleteGod fobid that I could be twenty again ! I wouldn't want all that anguish .It was not a good time for me. Get better soon ,we need you up and about.
ReplyDeleteHope you're getting some canine comforts. They'll surely know instinctively that something's not right. Hope it's just one of those passing nuisances, and wishing you a speedy recovery
ReplyDelete"Going Gently" has been included in our A Sunday Drive for this week. Be assured that we hope this help to point even more new visitors in your direction.

Jerry, that was very sweet of you
DeleteWedge a nice warm dog or a nice warm Chris against the pain and rest.
ReplyDeleteWish my body was younger but not the rest of me. 50 in body would do very nicely thank you.
Well it's 9.17 am and I slept like a top, having said that I now suspect I have actually pulled several of my " flank" muscles so it's still bloody painful for me to cough and bend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the best wishes
In the great scene of things
I m fine
X
Well, I'm told that 60 is the new 40, that's good, I'm 60 or is it 40 ? towards the end of this month.......
ReplyDeleteRub some Ellimans' linament over the area (wash your hands after and don't touch any sensitive areas!), you'll stick to high heaven but boy is it good! When I used to go horse riding many years' ago, the stable owner reeked ot it but, he used the Horse version, even stronger. When I told my Dad, he started using it too!
Hope you are not so sore soon xx
Get some of that liniment - rest up for a few days - keep warm - hot toddies at night (whisy, lemon juice and honey with a tad of hot water) and dogs in bed to keep you warm.
ReplyDeleteHope you watched Strictly though - it was jolly good last night. Just wish Judy Murray would be voted out though.
It's a bugger getting older. Take care xx
ReplyDeleteI am thrilled you have found a comfortable position for coughing and farting in unison.
ReplyDeleteHeal quickly.
Ouch!!
