You know... with a severe trim to the wings of Chris's moustache and removal of his specs... the two of you could pass as twins in that shot (or at the very least brothers). Rather similar indeed (in topographical terms)
Hmm.. Will it be Mr & Mr Gray though? Or perhaps a double-barelled Mr & Mr Gray-Whatever? Or still Mr Gray and Mr Whatever (athough I do appreciate that the other handsome chap's surname is probably not Whatever). Although "The Gray-Whatevers" would look good on a letterbox. But, more to the point, why not "John" on the cup? How formal. I've never thought of giving my surname. I so often learn new things on this blog (especially about bulldog maintenance)
Three observations: 1 No woolly hat? Whatever next? 2 Did you answer 'Mr. Gray to you', when the coffee person asked your name? 3 You even share ginger mustaches.
I was almost convinced until the bit about Arthur sleeping in the loose motions. No self respecting cat would do that no matter how close to his canine house mates he was lol
Love it, especially the mis-spelt coffee cup. We always say SUE when they ask, then when they shout out "Americano for Sue" Lovely Hubby feels like that cowboy in the song as he reaches for it ;-)
My you do look like you are having fun in that photo! Perhaps it's because the barista mis-spelt your surname. Or were you drinking grey coffee? Prefer light brown myself.
Does the 'Grey' on your cup refer to your name or the colour of your beards?
ReplyDeleteHere I was thinking it was Earl Grey tea ...
DeleteNo...more bad service .... It took an age to get a cup as one brain dead goth on the till couldn't get her arse into gear
DeleteI thought Earl Grey too, or your name misspelt.
DeleteLove the 'selfie' pic. The last time we went to Chester (about 3 or 4 years ago, we walked right around the wall. It was great.
ReplyDeleteYou are in fact, identical twins and I claim my five pounds....
ReplyDeleteNo we are not....I have a twin sister all of my own
DeleteJohn,

DeleteWho spelt your name wrong?
ReplyDeleteThe goth with a felt pen
DeleteI think it is in the staff handbook for Starbucks, spelling people's names incorrectly. :)
DeleteI day of shopping...sounds like fun.
ReplyDeleteYou know... with a severe trim to the wings of Chris's moustache and removal of his specs... the two of you could pass as twins in that shot (or at the very least brothers). Rather similar indeed (in topographical terms)
ReplyDeleteOh... I see Wanda agrees (I should perhaps read previous comments before adding my unoriginal tuppenceworth)

DeleteGood man!

Chris's moustache would mean something in Turkey - especially using semaphore.
ReplyDeleteIt would mean " touch my daughter and a breaka your legs"
DeleteI do love going out for lunch -- I hope you bought something better than a mis-spelled coffee cup!
ReplyDeleteXmas gifts for mother in law
DeleteSister in law
Brother in law
And a cushion with a chicken on it for us
it's nice being love, the cushion shows that.
DeleteThat is a truly magnificent moustache on the right!

DeleteI did a film degree... We covered all 1970 road movies
My apologies, I am in your debt. I was hasty, and misjudging. Not that I'll be anything else in the future, but for now I was incorrect, quite sorry.
DeleteI can tell you both are just giddy from having so much fun.
ReplyDeleteCute pic.
love it :)
ReplyDeleteI sometimes think I know yourself and Chris from TV ....you seem perfect TV presenters or characters from a fly on the wall documentary ......
ReplyDeleteI was almost convinced until the bit about Arthur sleeping in the loose motions. No self respecting cat would do that no matter how close to his canine house mates he was lol
ReplyDeletesorry John, I've gone and commented on the wrong posting but you know what I mean x

ReplyDeleteNever been to Chester but from all accords it's a lovely place.
ReplyDeleteMy you do look like you are having fun in that photo! Perhaps it's because the barista mis-spelt your surname. Or were you drinking grey coffee? Prefer light brown myself.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo! Chris is so expressive ... without changing his expression.
ReplyDeleteChris really does have the most marvelous moustache.
ReplyDeleteAnd a brisk walk round the walls and round the zoo to walk off all the over-eating?
ReplyDeleteHandsome couple, nothing quite like a day out
ReplyDeleteLoved Chester when we visited there....great photo of you both!
ReplyDeleteHello to you both! I haven't been to Chester yet -- it's on our list.
ReplyDeleteSo bad service at both Starbucks and the Italian restaurant. You guys aren't hard to please now, are you?
