The Walking Dead episode 3 ( Spoilers)

The first rule of the 1970 disaster film is to stick together
There is security and safety in numbers
That's the rule.
Shelley Winters did it with Gene Hackman in The Poseidon Adventure and Helen Reddy's Singing nun did it with Linda Blair's kidney patient in Airport 75
Always stick together and be brave........

The 2014 equivalent of the disaster movie is of course The Walking Dead
It's all about a standard group of the general public ( cop, football player, abused mom, redneck squirrel hunter, psychopath 13 year old, farmer's daughter and a vicar) and how they survive the zombie apocalypse ........
It's The Towering Inferno's Jennifer Jones with guts.....bloody guts
Anyhow

And I am annoyed at the producers of the tv series for NOT ADHERING TO THE  RULES!

Of course they do this to wrong foot the audience and keep us on our toes...but only 24 hours after Rick's group reunited after a whole fourth series apart.....we see Carol and Daryl fuck off after a mysterious hearse, Abraham's team with Tara, Maggie and Glen bugger off to DC in the  school bus and team Rick hole up in the Church
Oh and poor old Bob has been half eaten by a group of cannibals,  bitten by an underwater zombie and put down by his future brother in law.
It's all abit much
I'm getting stressed
I like neatness.....
And order
And I am a sucker for a happy ending.
Hey ho

  1. This episode did throw me for a loop if the simple fact of a apocalyptic world with zombies did not already have me on edge. Stick together just went out the window.

If the next episode does not go a different direction I'm seriously considering stopping my Walking Dead habit cold turkey.

    1. I think you will find that if you do try to get away they will keep coming back Gail. I understand that is the problem with zombies (though I have never induged in this delight, and probably never will).

    2. I hope so. This is your fault you know! I was living in a Zombie free zone.

Seriously I have enjoyed my catch up and glad your words convinced me to join this "cult" following as the Hollywood buzz is calling it.

  3. Aren't we all? Even tho I have seen Wizard of Oz hundreds of times, those flying monkeys still frighten me, and I cannot see how Dorothy and friends could escape the creepy guards.

  6. I think Carol has broken off from the group and that Beth is the one in the bushes with Darryl. So glad Michonne has her sword back!!

  7. You know...I've never watched the show, and why would I? Your coverage is so fantastic I don't know how the show could ever compare.

  8. I loved it, they've had a few seasons (series) where the episodes were sometimes hit or miss (don't get me wrong, love it always). But this season, all three episodes have been very good. Talking Dead (that's on afterwards here in the states) always gives more insight into the thinking. There's a reason they have been split up.

As for theories on who's with Daryl, I thought it might be Morgan but then I think it might be someone new...not sure but definitely can't wait!

    1. We thought Morgan, too. But, perhaps he and Carol rescued Beth? Another but, why is his guests hidden in the dark? He's running point? Lot of possibilities.

  9. Since I haven't seen any of the series, can't comment on that, thought I might see it. Maybe.
But happy endings. I had a friend in Seattle that had an other than clinical interest in me, we were talking once and she said a question she asked her patients often (she is a shrink) is what kind of movies they liked.
She went on to say the ones who liked ones with happy endings were people often with a less than happy past, history at some point. Even as adults, with happy lives, it made an imprint somehow.
I have no idea if she was just full of it, or what. But I had a pretty happy youth, didn't get different until a middle age adult when my wife died.
My fun times, those I enjoy most, includes movies, are the ones that have chaos at the end. I like unresolved things, they lend a mystery.

  10. Couldn't believe Maggie and Glen left until they showed Beth in next week's teaser. So Maggie had to go where her sister is. But, I want to know who was behind Daryl. I was surprised to see Gareth got his so quickly into the series. Must be more meanies to come.

  13. These " Walking Dead" posts are the only ones of yours I don't read…..I have no idea what it is all about…..but I have commented! Does that make up for the lack of reading? Hope your day is as sunny as ours is going to be.

  14. I'm still trying to get through last season of TWD on Netflix. Every single episode stresses me out!! My husband laughs at me, but when the action gets too intense I will either leave the room or else find something else to look at for awhile until the worst is over. I'm a big weenie! :)

  15. Catching up tonight, though I guessed Bob had been infected when he went off on his own. Same plot different character in the G.N. apparently.
