It was the semi final of Bake Off this evening.
Cheerful chippy Richard, wisecracking Yorkshire gran Nancy, the elfin Chetna and technical wizard Luis slugged it over baklavas, a dry-as-a-nun's chuff German Schichttorte and a show stopping selection of French entremets.
Who will win?
Who knows? And to be honest it doesn't really matter which one lifts the trophy as every one is a talented baker in their own right
Having said this , I really would like Nancy to win,

Here we go...
ReplyDeleteWell ...I would be happy if A nancy won
DeleteWouldn't it be great to be a judge on that show, John!?
ReplyDeleteCould we sign up as official tasters?
ReplyDeleteIt has been ages since I have watched a cooking show/contest. Here in the US, there seemed to be some real underhandedness, nasty!
ReplyDeleteI shall watch the re-run on Sunday; but I'm still rootin' for Chetna.
ReplyDeleteI want Louis to win, his work has been visually stunning throughout!
ReplyDeleteI'd like Nancy to win too, but have a feeling it may be Richard - he keeps being star baker. Note to self: make sure you only watch this on a FULL stomach!
ReplyDeleteI think BB is correct - I suspect it will be Richard - he is very good and very consistent. I do like Nancy though :)
ReplyDeleteI want Richard to win but would really be happy for any of them as they are really all so talented. I was sorry when Martha went out because for 17 she is really brilliant. Maybe she will open a really posh shop one day - if so make sure you keep away John - I could have eaten that baklava soon as look at it.
ReplyDeleteNancy is a Hull City supporter so of course I am rooting for her. Apparently, she has secret fantasies about Tom Huddlestone who is not a nancy boy.
ReplyDeleteHow do we get in as judges?
ReplyDeleteI would love Richard or Luis to win. That *shit* torte looked bloomin awful. I think Mr Hollywood needs to take his head out of his arse, just cos it's technical doesn't mean it tastes great
ReplyDeleteI think one of the guys will win, but which one I can't decide, they are very good each in their own way. Paul has paid them both a lot of compliments.
ReplyDeleteGrilled cake! What is that all about? Mind you the fancy cakes at the end made me go wobbly at the knees with desire! I would be happy for any of them to win but the blunt Nancy refusing to be intimidated by 'the male judge' is my favourite!
ReplyDeleteI kinda want Louis to lift the trophy...think it may be Richard though..
ReplyDeleteI think you'll find Nancy is a Lincolnshire Lass I'll have you know.
ReplyDeleteBloody hell....I was convinced she was yorkshire
DeleteHas Luis EVER won star baker? He's not necessarily my favourite but I think he deserved star baker ahead of Richard this time around. That's just my two cents.
ReplyDeleteAs for the overall winner, I'd be happy with any of the three remaining.
