" I am BIG ...It's the flower Show that got small"

I think I would have made a rather good PA
As all morning I have sorted out Flower Show Business.
I have sold £40 worth of raffle tickets,  delivered Show Schedules, conscripted three gardens into the " best garden class" , drank two cups of coffee at kitchen tables , accepted a plant pot full of leek seedlings and  spoke to a reporter from the Flintshire Leader about interviewing Auntie Gladys in her role as longest serving member of the Flower Show Committee.
The reporter was very nice, but I could tell he was slightly on edge  when he spied six bags of smelly dog poo standing proudly by the back door wall.
" I sprinkle them around the field borders to keep the badgers away" I explained as he laughed nervously and his eyes went just a little rounder when Winnie trotted past , showing him a cherry tomato that she had triumphantly  retrieved from underneath the fridge freezer.
Anyhow, Gladys is an old pro when it cones to reporters and photographers, so I have left her to it
" alright Mr DeMille ......she's ready for her close up"

  7. I was going to look up Flintshire Leader, and found you did it for us. I did have to inquire after bleep test, which I see you also will pass for reason of chairing the flower show. Have a great day.

  12. If he is a reporter worth his salt he can see a story in the bags of dog pooh. I would love to hear of all the ways to deter badgers, and suspect this isn't the most unusual by a long way. I suspect the dog pooh could be used as a people deterrent too. Celebrities take note.

    1. I think he was more bothered by the cherry tomato
Winnie kept showing it him ...an odd look for a fat bulldog

  13. LOL! Laughing before I've had my breakfast, thankfully not got a mouthful of boiled egg sarnie!
I'd love to have seen a pic of Winnie 'stealing the show'.

Last night I said to my cat, 'Don't wake me up before 7am, I'm having a lie-in'. Bang on 7am, she's crying at the door and I swear she sounded like she was saying,' Mummm, I wanna go out!'. I know, human-ising animals is cazy but, that's what I am, crazy cat lady and soon to be crazy chicken lady!
