Winnie gets the morning head rub greeting....and loves it |
Well the long and the short of it, is that he's doing mighty fine.
Summer is a good time for Albert.
His damaged leg is not so painful
He enjoys a diet of at least 2 young rabbits a week
and he is out galavanting all night every night.
He arrived back to the cottage just as I drove up after night shift.
He head butted me as I passed him on the cottage wall, and he slipped through the cat flap before I had opened the door in order to greet the rest of his pack.
He greets each dog in turn every time they catch up
Only Wininie properly understands the significance of a feline head rub, to the terriers it is just the silly actions of a wide eyed cat.
Beautiful! I haven't made a comment before, but I often lurk on your blog, which I love reading! Carol from Oz!
ReplyDeletea head butt and a lick on the hand is special from my cat kids!
ReplyDeleteAwww. Albert looks very, very like my Jazz. And I am glad he is thriving.
ReplyDeleteOh my god, that couldn't be any more gorgeous, love those furry people,
ReplyDeleteThat is adorable!
ReplyDeleteThis could be our farm cat, Blackie, John. Tess loves him and enjoys a head rub. However, on her last pee walk, which she does alone around the garden, we always put out her three biscuits ready for her return. Sometimes Blackie strolls in and asks for a bowl of milk for him and his companion Creamy (not very original names I'm afraid) - as soon as Tess hears me speak to Blackie she is in a like a shot - grene eyed jealousy.
ReplyDeleteA pair of sweeties!
ReplyDeleteOur Shadow [yes he's black...] loves headbutting us. Tinka is more of a 'give the humans a lick' girl.
Head rubbing=happiness + bliss! xx
ReplyDeleteThe world should take a cue from this.
ReplyDeleteEbony and Ivory popped into my head.
ReplyDeleteYep, head rubbing goes on a lot here too. Ginger is very good at sharing out his love :-)
ReplyDeleteI'd love head rubbing with Winnie...she's just too adorable. And Albert knows where he's loved!
ReplyDeleteCats just know.
ReplyDeleteCats are so 'true blue'. No faking with them. He must really love his 'pack'. Give him a snuggle for me. Thanks John...have a good one. Deb
ReplyDeleteCats are special
ReplyDeleteA snapshot of true love.
ReplyDeleteBet he would stop at group hug. I do miss not having a cat, they are such sweet animals.
ReplyDeleteI love the cat rub, it means they accept you as one of their own. Makes me miss having a kitty, but for now I shall live vicariously through you. And please, can you scratch Albert between the ears for me? :)
ReplyDeleteI think I would love Albert.
ReplyDeleteI envy Albert his diet; you might mention to him that a rabbit braised in a nice curry sauce is excellent over rice.
ReplyDeleteMy pup sometimes gives the old cat a head and ear wash..cat seems to like it! Discovered today that dog's " girlfriend" who he spent 5 hours yesterday with play fighting and mouthing each other has got kennel cough, so I am waiting for signs of it in him…..damn, it will curtail several outings if he gets it!!
ReplyDeleteMy grandkitty is coming to stay with us for a 3 week holiday while his mum and dad go off to even sunnier climes. He seems to like being with us, and we love the head bumps we get from him when he visits.
ReplyDeleteA very good life for a very good kitty.
ReplyDeleteReminds me of the gray tabby Milhous who would arch his back and stand on his tiptoes so he could rub his head against Faulkner the smooth collie's chin. Happy times.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Awww... all of this is heartwarming except the baby bunny part, which I'm not sure I can get out of my mind ... even though I realize the population will be thinned somehow ...
ReplyDeleteI love Albert. What a good cat.
ReplyDeleteLovely. That a dog and a cat can get along so well should be a lesson to some humans (but won't be, sadly).
ReplyDeleteWinnie is wise beyond dog-years.
ReplyDeleteAlbert has proper cat manner's!
ReplyDeleteLove that picture! Pictures like this always remind me how everything should be.... :-)
ReplyDelete:-)
ReplyDelete♥
I love Albert and Albert obviously loves Winnie and Winnie loves Albert back.... nothing wrong with a bit of loving
ReplyDeleteJo in Auckland, NZ
I can almost hear the purring from A and the snuffling and grunting from W.
ReplyDeleteAlbert is obviously the alpha male - like the strongest silverback in a troop of gorillas. You my friend are merely the zoo keeper.
ReplyDeleteMakes my heart glad to see this.
ReplyDeleteMy kitties will give me head bumps at least once a day, but every so often, they'll lift their face towards me so we can touch noses. Those are always extra special to me.
