Sums up the day nicely
I am on the train home, and nu has just sent me this photo from yesterday
I am trying to look busy as the woman behind me sounds like
She hires strippers for a living and is having a rather fruity conversation
with one of her " girls" by the name of Lydia who has got herself lost on the way for an interview
At a hotel behind Tower Bridge!
At a hotel behind Tower Bridge!
The train guard is one of those that thinks he's hilarious
And keeps saying " Milk @ Beans" over the communication system
instead of "Milton Keynes "
What a wag
For some reason the picture is not displaying for me. But thankfully your description gives me a good mental image! Can't wait for your memoir someday :)
ReplyDeletemy mother would say stop earwigging you will hear somethink you do not want to know ??? as a child i could not think of anythink i did not want to know
ReplyDeleteReminds me of some delightful trips on British trains.
ReplyDeleteFaulty photo. We heard some funny train announcements in England.
ReplyDeleteSame here, John. I hear your pain. I do get the wider picture. Not that I see the photo.
ReplyDeleteTravel in England best to be avoided. Unless you want to escape these shores. I shall do my best, this very minute, to keep many years' woes to myself. And don't talk to me about those creeking Greek ferries the English buy next to nothing. Thank whoever for the Euro Tunnel. At least you only have 35 minutes to drown.
Other than that I love Richard Branson: I wouldn't marry him unless he asked me first but he does look good in a white dress.
U
I can't see the picture. Ack I feel I am missing out. Glad you had a good time..
ReplyDeleteNo photo for me either John....but I'd rather have a train guard with a sense of humour than not.
ReplyDeleteno pix. :(

There definitely isn't at 3.15pm!! Hope you had a nice day and didn't accidentally get off at Milk@Beans.
ReplyDeleteNo picture... will use imagination.
ReplyDeleteYou dirty man!
Got it now!
DeleteI WANT A PICTURE! I WANT A PICTURE! I WANT A PICTURE! etc.
ReplyDeleteTa! Worth the wait (I suppose).
DeleteThe train guard sounds a real character, John.
ReplyDeleteNo picture here either. Wah!
ReplyDeleteNo picture for me either :(
ReplyDeleteYou know what they say a picture is worth ... yet most days you manage with very few words to paint us a vivid picture of your day. Now that is talent.
ReplyDelete... and the picture just showed up too! You two look like you had a great time.
ReplyDelete…….. and there it is !!!! Love the shirt John. XXXX
ReplyDeletePicture! Looks like you had a grand time.
ReplyDeletePhoto not there when I first read the post, but it was there when I went to comments…disappointed that it wasn't of the pea green kecks! How many had you had at that point? Good night out by the looks of it. X
ReplyDeleteLooks yummy.
ReplyDeleteA tad tipsy by then, John? Or are you blaming the red face on sunshine?
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a cracking day out - and I hope you didn't let the enigmatic Chris down.
You always get one! Looks like you and Nu had a fantastic time. Love her smile.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great time, John. Glad to hear it!
ReplyDeleteI can see the picture and Nuala's teeth are fabulous! (I always notice glowing white teeth before anything else!). Lydia's a lovely biblical name. Have a great weekend back on the ranch. x
ReplyDeleteDrunken selfies should always be avoided.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the picture. And eavesdropping. Which I do all the time.
ReplyDeleteYou look a little flushed, don't think that was your first round of cocktails!!! Looks like you are having a great time. Still waiting to see the pea green pants!
ReplyDeleteThe boon to signing on so late is that I get to see the photo right away. Wonderful, looks as if both of you are heartily enjoying yourselves.
ReplyDeleteLove the picture.
ReplyDeleteYou look like you are having a jolly wheeze. Do I see happy pink cheeks?
ReplyDeleteAlways fun to eavesdrop a little :0 Looks/sounds like a lot of fun to me!
ReplyDeleteConversations overheard on trains can be very funny !
ReplyDeleteHave you ever imagined having a 'fake' and 'interesting' phone conversation on a train just to monitor fellow passengers reactions? (I remember a past post where you told us you liked to squeak all the dog toys in the shop so I thought this idea might appeal).
ReplyDeleteMine is that I'd like to get on the PA system at a supermarket and begin the announcement 'hello campers...' in my best Gladys Pugh voice.
Tee hee xxx
DeleteGot it.Looks like a fine time was had by all.The pants John we want to see the pants,Pretty Please?
ReplyDeleteThe local shopping centre has occasional bizarre attractions for the children, including a robotic dragon on wheels that talks (via remote control) to any child that approaches. Many's the time I've sat outside Costa watching it, fantasising about taking over the controls and make it bump into stuff, muttering in a Welsh accent, gently swearing too itself - too much Skull Attack"
ReplyDeleteThis might brighten your day too:

I love snippets of overheard conversations. But I think with our raucous conversations sometimes other folk would be equally entertained by us (Me and Lovely Hubby that is ... not me and you .... although I bet we would be just as bad!!) :-)
