Serendipity

Tomorrow I shall share with you my thoughts of being the spouse of an academic
at a Scandinavian research conference
( I wonder if there is a Swedish version of a scotch egg? Btw)
Anyhow
But tonight I will paint a brief picture of one of those silly serendipity moments that
Tend to linger long in the mind.
Last night , as I were watching the field animals amble gently to their own shelters for the night,
this song  played on ipad re run of Desert Island Discs
And in the warm still evening air
I danced around the coops with a  cheerful middle aged Scottish terrier and a fat old bulldog with a wild grin gleefully in tow

Dancing with dogs
Life couldn't get any better

  2. Ohhhh, I have LOVED Michael Buble for a while now! He just oozes boyish sex appeal, don't you think! Much better than ol' Russel Crowe!! The video for Michael B.'s song 'I just haven't met you yet' is also great. Great song to dance around to. And when you google 'Michael Buble holy shitballs' something funny comes up, too.

  5. Can't wait. I am the husband of an academic......while I did my thing in the world you live in, she was teaching, and researching, and I'd tell her in evenings about someone who coded and I got them back, she have those faraway eyes, telling me about a twist she'd found about English Literature, a poem from 1780, she'd read.

  7. This is so sweet. It brings tears to my eyes because it reminds me of the way my Mum used to dance with her Dachshund.

  16. Bless you, John, I think that you needed that joyful experience after having to behave yourself at what sounds like quite a dull conference to anyone who didn't have the foggiest clue about what was going on!

  17. I do a lot of jigging around the hillside, sometimes forgetting we are on full view to all the passing traffic on the A470, but you know what .... I really don't mind, I will be known as the ' madwoman on the hill ' with pride!!

    1. I thought it was on;y my own senile computer so a bit relieved to find I'm not the only one with the problem (3rd day now) - so let's hope it just GOES AWAY for all of us - and soon!

  21. Nana Go-Go, i'm having the same issue. Must be some new "improvement."

Meantime, dancing with dogs, what a lovely thought. The cats usually stare at me if i dance, and they stand quite still, unsure of what to make of me. On occasion, i chase them around the yard, and we all have fun with that, where we get very silly and play tag.
