15 minutes

There are times in a person's life where solitude is absolutely vital
Sitting on the loo is one
( I will never understand couples that are able to poo away for England whilst sharing a bathroom and some light conversation)
Beavering away in Bosoms is another.
Other solitary activities ( STEADY THOMAS) include

Sitting in graveyards
Baking! ( I hate mixing flour and eggs when someone is friggin lurking )
And Watching Zombie tv series

Listening to The Archers is the last on the list
For years I have insisted that at 7.02 am every night ( except Saturday's of course) the kitchen door is closed, all conversation is ceased and I am left alone with the washing up and Ambridge's finest.
It's a ritual that may look pretty mundane to a causal observer,
But its an important fifteen minutes in my day..........
What is your " I Vont to be alone" moment?

  1. I'm quite jealous of people who have been listening to the Archers for years....I never have and feel that it might be a little late to go to the party if you know what I mean......and my 'alone' time is in the morning when the mister has left for work and I sit in my dressing gown with the laptop and a pot of tea.....I spend all day talking to people and the quiet of the early morning....no radio or tv...is just heaven.

  5. There are rather a lot of moments in my day when I want to be alone. And I need to start each day that way.
A cup of tea and the cats builds me up to face whatever is coming through...
I would rather watch sunrise or set on my own too.

  8. You jump to conclusions about me (and maybe I do as well), but onanism may not be as enjoyable when solitary. Ask Rolf Harris if you don't believe me.

Any form of escapism may, in my opinion, be shared, but day-dreaming is one essential solitary experience which can be shattered by another, but definitely should not be.

  9. I prefer to be alone in the bathroom. I don't even want Willy Dunne Wooters to enter while I'm showering or putting on my makeup. I spend a lot of time alone, though, and it gets to me at times. I have a lot of "I vont to be with somebody" moments.

    2. Is what a bad thing? Vanting to be with somebody? If that's what you mean, then it's a bad thing because I'm very lonely. That's why I vant to be with someone.

  11. This is it, my morning blog catch up after Him has gone to work and before I have to dive into a long day running the business. Otherwise I am much better off in company. :) Oh, and listening to the radio in the car, I really like to be alone in the car with the radio -not awful modern music and ads but the national radio, with all kinds of interesting stuff about people, plays, sometimes those great BBC shows, but not unfortunately, The Archers!

  28. I will take any alone time I can get. We've been far too long not to appreciate alone time.

I do not like to share the bathroom when making my deposit. Never does Hubby...he reads while there.

I am certainly happy the entire family is participating in planning your wedding.

Happy Mother's Day because you are the mother to all those in the Bosoms.

  29. I last listened to The Archers in about the 1950's; but somehow I imagine that I'd be able to just tag along again.

  31. Depending on what I am trying to prepare, sometimes I appreciate having company (and two extra hands) in the kitchen, while at other times, I prefer fixing a meal alone.
The bathroom is a place where, if only for practical reasons (mine is very narrow, and my boyfriend is a big strong fellow), alone is best.
But since I am a single household with BSF being there only every other weekend, I have plenty of time on my own - and I need it, too, in order to keep my mental sanity on an acceptable level.

  33. Alone time in the house is a treasure for me but when they do fly the nest I will be lost.
Sat here alone with a cup of tea, laptop on for Blog reading ( yours first every morning ) Radio Solent on in the background, toast & a second cuppa to come then have a shower. Then half an hour ALONE in the shop before it all gets going for the day !

  34. OMG! The Archers? But, have to admit that even at my age I've never heard it as I still cling to my boyhood habit of diving for the off-switch before the first strains of 'Barwick Green' come through. But I can well see that Ambridge life must have more than a few parallels with your own, so why not?

My own 'want to be alone' MOMENT is......my entire life, as long as having an array of pussies doesn't count.

  37. I love to be around people, but I cherish my solitary time also. Being by myself in a car, driving home, always gives me peace. I also like to be alone when pigging out on sweets. If nobody sees me, there are no calories or guilt.

  40. I have many 'alone' times, but most particularly from the time I get up in the morning until after I have had my breakfast. Fortunately, I am an early riser so I am almost always successfully 'alone'! As far as the bathroom -- that goes without saying!

  42. When I am stressed or anxious, I love a good clean.

Don't get in my way. I have a system, if you think you should help, the answer is no! I will redo what you have done. I am much quicker without people trying to help. Don't speak and don't tell me to turn my music down. If Tina T is on, get out of my way.

Bathrooms are defo alone time. Anything that happens in there does not EVER need witnesses. A lady should have some mystique! You cant have allure when you some has seen you shave your legs.
