Winnie trying to get into the festive mood |
Now, we had not planned a giddy-kipperish trip round the gay bars of canal street ( a sedate trip to the corner house cinema and a civilized bottle of white was the planned excitement of the evening) but I am disappointed not to have escaped the blustery brown wet of Wales.....for the blustery grey wet of inner city centre Manchester.
The weather continues to reek havoc.....Chris' family beach hut has just been washed away from Broadstairs' beach.....
What a pity about the little beach hut. Could it be put upright again, or has it gone completely? Perhaps if the latter, it is maybe providing sanctuary for some large fish now.
ReplyDeleteI think it will need to be replaced kath:(
DeleteOh dear, those winds and floods sound daunting, best to stay home safe and snug. I am sure Winnie approves that plan.
ReplyDeleteJust different shades if wet hey? Hope the beach hut can be recovered.
ReplyDeleteNot at all nice - the effects of the weather, I mean. Must be a consolation (to some extent) to have Winnie help keep your spirits up.
ReplyDeleteOh that's awful news. Lovely photo of Winnie though.
ReplyDeletethis weather is nuts.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to tell when a bulldog is happy let alone in the 'Christmas mood'.
ReplyDeleteHer happy and sad faces are indeed the same
DeleteFlooding is Mother Nature at her absolute bitchiest!! Stay safe !
ReplyDeleteBarb
Goodness crazy weather everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI don't buy little outfits for the The Square Ones (I am making Kilts for their Christmas presents though) but I bought a Christmas Tree hat much like Winnie this year for thehamish. He wears it with that look on his face that say... "oh no you didn't"
cheers, parsnip
Oh Winnie you are a hoot.
ReplyDeleteTerrible weather.
Winnie seems to be sooo adorable and of good nature. :)
ReplyDeleteI thought you'd all be used the the shitty weather over there since you were born, raised and live in it. I for myself just can't wait for our first big blizzard and have my plans cancelled. It's so much more fun to make snow angels...
and shovel the snow to make huge snow banks! :)
Hugs
Jon
winnie is too wonderful! we are in for a big storm too.
ReplyDeleteI hear ya John. Our town was just hit two weeks ago, by two tornadoes. Tore up businesses and homes, and completely destroyed 50 homes. We were without power for three days. I hope it ends soon for you.
ReplyDeleteCindy Bee
Well I think your tornados out rank our floods
DeleteWinnie is adorable, but I'm so sorry about the flooding. Franklin is showing off our Christmas decorations today in his post.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Pissing, farting... I am beginning to get an idea of your inimitable style now.
ReplyDeleteTook you long enough
DeleteAll I have to do now is plagiarise? FWAAAARRRRPPPP!
DeleteJust found your blog via Frugal Queen. You sound right up my street! I am totally in love with George
ReplyDeleteNice to have you aboard...George is sweetie isn't he?
DeleteJust finished reading a very lady-like, lace-decorated tea-time blog to find the next one on my reading list was titled 'Pissing Weather'. I almost snorted my English Breakfast. Still chuckling.
ReplyDeleteIt made me smile too
DeleteI had no idea the weather was that bad over there! I hope the Ukranians are well-battened.
ReplyDeletecheese louise! and doesn't winnie look adorable?
ReplyDeletehow was your visit the other day to the older woman? did she like winnie?
This weather is just disappointing many for the holidays.
ReplyDeleteWe have cold temperatures, ice and snow.
I'm sorry to hear about Chris' families home.
Winifred for President
ReplyDeleteI've experienced fire, drought and earthquake, but never flood. Living in water-starved California, it's sometimes hard to fathom having too much of the stuff. Winnie has the sweetest face -- love those triangle ears perched on top of her head.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about the beach hut. Hope the weather clears for you all soon. ♥
ReplyDeleteAmazing how localised weather can be. I have family visiting Dublin at the mo who are experiencing reasonably mild, cloudy but fine weather yet not far away in Ryl there are awful floods. An awful time of the year for floods - cold and wet - poor things. At least when it floods here it is not cold.
