He has been playing around with some of the old photographs of Trelawnyd from MY HISTORY BLOG and has inserted them exactly into their present day positions.
A neat trick if you can do it I thought!
The below photo is a case in point. It shows the village wartime volunteer force posing magnificently outside the memorial hall.
London Road circa 1900 and as it is today |
High Street 1970 and today |
Milk delivery 1940 Byron Street |
What a brilliant idea!
ReplyDeleteAnd will there be an exhibition? I think it would be popular (judging from what I know about the village from your blog posts....)
ReplyDeleteGood idea AJ
DeleteThe extra photos - and the next post - are great.
DeleteHave only just begun and I am trying to learn how to use the app ....hopefully they will get better ......then onto Hollywood !

Need more photos ! Have you got any on email you could send me ?
DeleteIt is really great on your part Jason. Keep it up. Cheers.
DeleteSuper idea, wonderfully done Jason!
Deletevery clever!
ReplyDeleteI love history stuff like this. the contrasts make for interesting discussion.
ReplyDeletePerhaps you could play the old Hovis tv advert theme (it's on You Tube) tune "Going Home" for background music at the exhibition? Great pictures!
ReplyDeleteVery interesting to see your village old and new....in our town the old is more to my liking as our population and the businesses here were in abundance and now we have only about one-third of the population and businesses of years ago. Bring on the photos... love seeing the village!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! It reminded me of the website dearphotograph.com. I'd love to see some old pictures of our lodge in Llanasa.
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever thing to do..i Love that
ReplyDeleteAFM xx
Technology is the clever one ...not I ......I am merely utilising it ......
ReplyDeleteGreat post today John.
ReplyDeleteCongratulation Jason. What a wonderful idea.
Love the idea of an exhibition.
cheers, parsnip
Clever stuff, isn't technology wonderful (when it works of course).
ReplyDeleteThose are cool. I wish I had photos of my neighborhood from the early '40s, right after the houses were built. Drainage in this area is very bad, but I've been told it used to be worse. One street over from me people would canoe down the street after a heavy rain.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Do you really have a London Road in Trelawnyd John - it must be a very long road. Like the idea of the photos though.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely! (Said with British accent.) :-)
ReplyDeleteVery clever stuff If only they had colour back then too!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea Jason, you are quite the clever…..ahem, sausage.
