It has been just one of those wet and miserable days today....the sort that mean that you get a soaking every time you venture out of he door. Finally, I had to sit in a hot bath, just to make myself feel a little more human and was just enjoying the peace and quiet of the living room post soak, when I thought I would capture this idyllic moment for posterity
The bulldog belch at the end just about kills the mood
This is what my tourist brain thinks a village home should look like. Warm, inviting, cozy with sleeping puppies. With or with out the burp or fart. As for Darling Winnie... better out then in.
What a lovely cosy room you have, in spite of doggy belches! It has been a gloriously sunny day here in Hertfordshire..hope your rain isn't coming our way.
I can understand why you want to record the serenity and warmth of the room John...very inviting......and I really really want a log burner......but no farting bulldog in front of it thanks!
Are you sure it was the bulldog ? Your cottage is absolutely charming, I'm smitten with your grandfather clock, every room inviting and cosy. Just as one imagines. ~Jo
LOL..~! It's the same there as it is here~! Only thing you have a dog I have a grandson, Ben age 7 who always burps big ones and sometimes long ones..He says "GranAnnie did you smile or laugh with that one?" I always laugh to humor him... I tell him he can only burp when we are in the car and I'm the only one there..No burping in public... Ta ta for now from Iowa:)
awwww...puppy burps!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely cozy room with the fire flickering and the pups relaxed.

John,
ReplyDeleteEvery dog looks so peaceful, and innocent enjoying the warmth of the fire.
It's sunny here today, but a bit colder than usual for this time of year (30°F/~-2°C). I'm grateful for central heating, wool sweaters, and hot water.
ReplyDeleteThat's it...blame the poor dog.

ReplyDeleteYes, very cozy indeed. I like your 'down time', John.

ReplyDeleteHeh.
ReplyDeleteBaths always make my hubby feel more human, too.
Have a good Friday and a wonderful weekend, John. ♥
Healthy she is; Lexus usually waits and does it right in my face. xx
ReplyDeleteEverything looks so cozy.
ReplyDeleteThat dog is a pip.
'Cosy' is usually a synonym for untidy; but not in your case. Lovely cottage.
ReplyDeleteThe essence of 'gemutlich' - (that word we all use because English doesn't have a clear equivalent. - 'Doch, SEHR gemutlich').
ReplyDeleteWinnie is right at home. I love how she hogs the fire x
ReplyDeleteIdyllic. Especially with the sound turned down...
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful room. Your clock looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteThank you Alain......you can't see the dust
