Enough of all this gloom and storm news
Just been watching an aged Earth Wind & Fire
Performing on the tv
And I was suddenly whisked away to my disco bunny days back in 1978
Venue: The Stables nightclub in St Asaph
White jeans, grandad shirt, clean trainers....double Pernod and lemonade in my hand
And the worst dancing this side of the river Dee
The Perfect Storm is on ITV2!
ReplyDeleteI borrowed World War Z and watched it earlier. Liked it.
One of the worst films that George Clooney was ever in - and that's saying something!
DeleteI was more into Martini and lemonade or a Pernod and black!!!

ReplyDeleteI would have loved to have seen that!
ReplyDeleteI saw Earth, Wind and Fire in Vancouver way back in 1979. I loved it when they sang um "Bloggy Wonderland"!
ReplyDeleteActually, there concert was terrific and the dancing, well....
My drink back then was Pernod and lemonade too...
ReplyDeleteTrainers! in 1978??!!The white jeans and grandad shirt were bad enough!!I would have taken you for more of a Gucci loafers type!lol Anyhoo, back to Strictly....what an absolute nonsense that those two were in the dance-off and that that one got kicked out (I hate spoilers!).The public are a fickle lot, are they not? Have a good week :-)
ReplyDeleteHey, I would have shown you a 'move or two', Johnny boy!! But I lead, OK?
ReplyDeleteWere there chest hairs exposed?
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun time though, John. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteJohn,
ReplyDeleteI played the video you posted, and my husband and I were back in 1978, amazing how you did that, lol!!!!!
Pernod and lemonade sounds good, how about Pernod on the rocks please??
I demand a photo. Someone must have one.
ReplyDeleteStay dry and safe!!
I was just reading about the storm coming to the UK. I have been through two hurricanes in the past two years, both bad, but the worst did not hit my home. Batten down the hatches and be safe.
ReplyDeleteX and I sometimes went disco dancing when we were dating. Other times, we went to hotels. Such a mistake, but I love my children.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
that made me giggle
DeleteGiggling is healthy.
DeleteLOVE Earth Wind and Fire. I too had a white grandad shirt - they were very flattering xxxxx (PS I went to Crookes yesterday too, but without my camera, I'll have to go back - I loved it xx)
ReplyDeleteHope you and Chris and all the animals are ok. We are ok. No real damage
ReplyDeleteMarvelous !
ReplyDeleteNow that IS spooky! I wasted hours last night watching the likes of the Stylistics and the Manhattans on youtube. And a very young Rod Stewart. I don't care what anyone says, I loved the 70s......dancing round my handbag at 'The Place' in a nice frock from C&A......
ReplyDeleteA year ago today we were hit with 'Hurricane Sandy' and lost part of our barn roof--Stay safe and if I see you blow over on your way to Kansas, I'll stop you!
ReplyDeleteWas the grandad shirt made out of cheesecloth? I seem to remember almost all of the shirts/blouses being made of this around that time........
ReplyDeleteSo! Were you watching 'Strictly' last night, then?
ReplyDeleteJohn, I saw Strictly too, and drifted back to my disco days at The Maison Royale in Bournemouth.
ReplyDeleteTight and revealing white jeans, no doubt. I think we called them grandpa shirts. I'm sure you thought you were dancing well at the time.
ReplyDeleteEverything okay?
ReplyDeleteAnd at that time, I guess I was displaying the worst dancing the other side of the River Dee... LOVE the video.
ReplyDeleteAt that time, i was a freshman in college, rocking out to Jethro Tull and Bruce Springsteen, I also listened to Yes, the Sex Pistols, and the Ramones.
ReplyDeleteI was not a fan of disco, but thought Earth, Wind, and Fire had great arrangements.
