Less of The Wind more of the Earth and fire

Enough of all this gloom and storm news
Just been watching an aged Earth Wind & Fire
Performing on the tv
And I was suddenly whisked away to my disco bunny days back in 1978
Venue: The Stables nightclub in St Asaph
White jeans, grandad shirt, clean trainers....double Pernod and lemonade in my hand
And the worst dancing this side of the river Dee

  1. The Perfect Storm is on ITV2!

I borrowed World War Z and watched it earlier. Liked it.

  13. I was just reading about the storm coming to the UK. I have been through two hurricanes in the past two years, both bad, but the worst did not hit my home. Batten down the hatches and be safe.

  14. X and I sometimes went disco dancing when we were dating. Other times, we went to hotels. Such a mistake, but I love my children.

    Love,
    Janie

  17. Now that IS spooky! I wasted hours last night watching the likes of the Stylistics and the Manhattans on youtube. And a very young Rod Stewart. I don't care what anyone says, I loved the 70s......dancing round my handbag at 'The Place' in a nice frock from C&A......

  18. A year ago today we were hit with 'Hurricane Sandy' and lost part of our barn roof--Stay safe and if I see you blow over on your way to Kansas, I'll stop you!

  19. Was the grandad shirt made out of cheesecloth? I seem to remember almost all of the shirts/blouses being made of this around that time........

  20. So! Were you watching 'Strictly' last night, then?

  21. John, I saw Strictly too, and drifted back to my disco days at The Maison Royale in Bournemouth.

Tight and revealing white jeans, no doubt. I think we called them grandpa shirts. I'm sure you thought you were dancing well at the time.

  25. At that time, i was a freshman in college, rocking out to Jethro Tull and Bruce Springsteen, I also listened to Yes, the Sex Pistols, and the Ramones.

I was not a fan of disco, but thought Earth, Wind, and Fire had great arrangements.
