Just been to one of my last Samaritan's training sessions
And was Late home
At 10.45 pm, as I finally sat down heavily in my old arm chair
Winifred dragged herself from her kitchen bed
Walked slowly into the living room and somewhat theatrically
Offered her face to me for a kiss.
I gave her a big smacker and
I gave her a big smacker and
seemingly satisfied she then ever so slowly ambled back to bed.........
.........I think we have bonded
Smooch

DeleteKissing people is a bulldog trait is it not?
Haha Janie.
DeleteHaha Susie. Yes, John, I think bulldogs are very kissy. My collie mixes do very little kissing.
DeleteIt's Friday night in Trelawnyd!
ReplyDeleteYes it's all going on x
ReplyDeleteMy Jack Russell Digs kisses me every morning when I wake up and then goes to lie on my feet....love it...best way to start the day! A very posh English woman that lives here looked down her nose at me and said " You don`t actually allow a dog on the bed?"....no actually.....he gets under the quilt!!
ReplyDeleteShe's officially home.
ReplyDeleteI keep thinking you're training to be in some kissing booth.
ReplyDeleteWhat's a kissing booth?
ReplyDeleteI am so bland!
It's where people pay you to have a snog - might start one up myself - though I'd have to do it in reverse and pay them to kiss me!!lol
Deleteit's called a brothel in the UK...
DeleteAw bless..
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to be an equal opportunity kisser! :-)
ReplyDeleteI think you're hooked. There is no going back now! Happy for you!
That is so beautiful. Thank you for sharing that story. Sounds like she is gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteShe has adopted you.

ReplyDeleteNothing is better than doggie smoochies! This post made me smile!
ReplyDeleteMwaaa! No tongues I hope.
ReplyDeleteMy lovely old dad, all those years ago used to say 'Don't kiss the dog!' Needless to say I never took any notice. Now when I kiss Lettice I say 'If you had a pound for every kiss you'd be a millionaire dog!' And she would. One of life's free pleasures.
ReplyDeleteWinifred's one helluva lucky dog and don't she know it! You are a good man John Gray.
LLX
Winnie, bless her, is giving you her entire and unconditional loyalty, trust and gratitude with all her little doggie heart. Now I'm gonna start blubbing......
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to meet her!
ReplyDeleteShe loves you John.
ReplyDelete( Never heard back from my application to the Samaritans will try again )
Of course you have bonded John. As my mother would have saud - she knows which side her bread's buttered.
ReplyDeleteI did Samaritan training for a few weeks but poor hearing finally defeated me and I withdrew. My brother was a Samaritan for years - it is such a worthy cause.
Oh, bless her. So quick to trust.....
ReplyDeleteShe has a puckering up kinda face!
ReplyDeleteHaha. She's got you wrapped around her paw. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWonder what she's going to do to get Chris on her side...
Have a good Sunday, John. :)
She's gorgeous and a most fitting addition to the managerie. Will the next addition be an Irish terrier or an Irish wolfhound?
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful. A dog with a beautiful heart. lucky you.
