Before our own flower show here in Trelawnyd, there is the much grander and comprehensive Flower Show down in Prestatyn to contend with. My elder sister Ann, runs this show , and has done for years, so today, is the day that I have to prepare my entries. Tomorrow the show opens.
I have not really got a good eye when it comes to arranging veg, but I hope that the above basket may win me something......
Tally ho
A tasty supper when it comes home, minimum. I think it's lovely, good luck.
ReplyDeleteA lovely basket John. I am amazed that your courgettes are already fruiting like that. "Trumps" will certainly happen if you consume all that veg. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYour Bosoms are both lovely and productive, I see. This is something perhaps uniquely British, to present arranged baskets of assorted produce. In the States, everything is judged separately. Fellow Yanks, correct me if I'm wrong, please!
ReplyDeleteA lovely presentation, the veggies look delicious.
ReplyDeleteI'd say a ribbon or two will be coming your way.

We'll be there tomorrow, I think. Are you allowed to bring dogs in?
ReplyDeleteI have been in with one of the dogs before hannah
DeleteOh, yes, you had George and Meg with you last year. I'll bring Darwin tomorrow afternoon for a nosy :-)
DeleteLooks terrific! I hope my own plots provide something as pretty.
ReplyDeleteyour bosoms basket is fabulous! i have garden envy!
ReplyDeleteLooks bloody marvellous John. Generous bosoms indeed!

ReplyDeleteGive that man a rosette!
ReplyDeleteLLX
Lovely veggies... I'm going to have to goggle "courgettes"... as I'm not familiar with that word. Are the veggies being judged as veggies or as an artistic arrangement? Either way, it looks like a winner.
ReplyDeleteCourgettes are zucchini :)
DeletePerfect and very pretty!
ReplyDeleteYes, very perfect.
ReplyDeleteBeauty, John! Could weep if only I allowed myself.
ReplyDeleteU
Daft sod
DeleteThat basket is marvelous!
ReplyDeleteYou lie. It's gorgeous. That was my first thought on seeing the photo even before I read your post - I wondered if you had done the arrangement or if it was a photo from the internetz ... truly. Good luck with your entry.

Lovely! I'm sure you'll win the 'most humble carrots' prize. ;-)
ReplyDeleteEls
Yes they do look like old men's penis'
DeleteI wouldn't know...
DeleteThere's a general penis theme running through the whole basket so they surely deserve a prize for consistency? Fingers crossed for a rosette...
DeleteI think you're display looks mighty professional. I'm most impressed. The veg looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI just harvested our first potatoes today (our first year with a veggie plot), but I'm not ready for such loft displays yet.
Best of luck... I bet you come top 3.
That looks lovely. May you be showered with awards.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Looks fantastic to me, John. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteLooks good to me. Good luck!!
ReplyDeleteWhat do you call yellow squash?
Pumpkin?
Delete'Bosoms'? 'Comes'? 'Trumps'? Something for everyone. Right - now for a game of 'guess the root vegetable!
ReplyDeleteBon Chance, Mon Ami. Admirable basket of fresh veg. Everything crossed for you. x
ReplyDeleteI'll be up all night waiting to see the results of the veggie show!!! I wish the basket arrangement style would catch on here in the US, it's very attractive. (despite the obvious phallic theme)
ReplyDeleteEveryone sees cocks around here!
DeleteLol
I may come third place if I am lucky
The other entries are much better
Wow !
ReplyDeleteLooks pretty impressive to me! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteBut like jane said - looks aren't everything - do they taste as well?
ReplyDeleteYou've done very well!(all of you)- takes hard work, patience and determination to present to the judges like that
Fingers crossed for a ribbon and cert

Trying to avoid Rhyl and getting to Prestatyn, is enough to contend with...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous basket John!
ReplyDeleteWow! Well, you've already won my admiration.
ReplyDeleteYay for home-grown veg! It all looks yummy.
ReplyDeletewith I could still use the words bosoms and up in the same sentence. . .
ReplyDeletevery artistically arranged :)
ReplyDeleteI love your display, and as I'm on a Blog catch up I know that you came second...... but I bet yours was so much tastier than that arty farty basket that came first :-)
